Because it's good software that's well worth the money. The same could be said about Windows, and yet I still paid for Opera, even though IE, Mozilla, and Netscape are all free.
Nintendo, make us all some more 2d mario games - please.
I wish they'd make an "extended" version of Super Mario World... same graphics, same engine, same music, same characters... just 100 or so new levels. I'd pay $50, plus the cost of whatever new system it runs on, just to play it. I know i'm not the only one, either.
I use Opera too, and agree that more needs to be done than having your pet's names displayed in secure windows. Don't forget that the vast majority of computer users are idiots, and since Microsoft software is on the vast majority of computers, they have to write their programs to work for the lowest common denominator.
Not much now, because people aren't expecting everything to be so secure. In the future, when it's expected that what you're looking at is secure, attacks like this could be come more widespread.
Because any website can pop up a fake window with a little GIF of a lock in the corner. But those dog names will be stored somewhere secure, that they can't access, so you know if you see them that your own computer is generating that data. Makes sense, although it'll be hard to explain and teach to the vast majority of computer users.
Good. Maybe it'll run on people who don't have top of the line systems. I can't afford a new machine just for games, and unfortunatly, that means I can't play many of the games released over the last year or two. I wish more companies would make games with not so great graphics, so that people like me can still have our fun.
There are many head units availible as aftermarket upgrades that provide inputs. Aiwa is one brand that's known to have them, and there are several others. Some have a headphone sized line in jack on the front, and some have full RCA jacks on the back. Personally, i've used a 5 year old Aiwa tape deck with an input on the front, hooked up to both an MP3 discman and my Pocket PC. Sounded great in either setup, and the deck was less than $100.
I'm not talking about web developers. Everyone I know (besides myself, naturally) uses IE, and everyone I know complains about it. Yet when I tell them about all the other browsers that they can try, they just stick with IE, and keep complaining. If the majority of the web users keep this attitude, those web designers are going to be stuck with GIF for a lot longer than they should be. Sure, good PNG support in IE would be a good thing, but in the meantime the end users are going to have to do something to make it happen.
But when will the hypocritical fucks on slashdot start using png graphics instead of gif?
Probably about the same time that the hypocritical fucks who complain about PNG not working in IE shut up and switch to a better browser instead of just complaining about the one they have.
If women can't even park their cars right, how the hell are they going to compute (p=r-w/2,g)-w+2r+b,f )-w+2r-fg max((r+w/2)+f,(r+w/2)+b)-((2r),(r+w/2+k)) on the fly??
The firewire port was never intended to be for DV editing. It's for multiplayer games and plugging in other accessories, like fancy controllers and the like. I don't think they ended up releasing any of the accessories, though.
The difference is that US GPS phones don't have the GPS decoders in them. They just recieve raw data from the satellites, relay it to the tower, where computers at your provider figure out your location and pass it on to 911. There is no way to decode that data within the phone. Apparently, that's what sets this new phone apart from what we already have.
Damn, if I was going to admit that, i'd at least do it anonymously.

Ha ha ha... I love having a sense of humor. Too bad "A Proud American" doesn't know what it's like.
/me thorws tantrum
You got a Game Gear to run a couple of hours on four AA batteries? How? Mine wouldn't run at all on four, seeing as it needed six.

Since Beta is so much better than VHS, it's hard to see a threat there.
Cut is a linear editor
Great post, you're right about the difference between FCP and AE. However, FCP is a non-linear editor.

Finally, an April Fool's Day post that isn't annoying as hell!

That would make sense, except that there are two Ask Slashdots posted by Cliff. One of them just a few articles down from this one.
Well, now I finally know how my buddy Adam Snider got laid!
Rick Allen finally has something to look forward to!
