Once I became aware that the government were very serious about shutting this project down, I made sure that the missile was removed from my possession and is now elsewhere. I can also say in total honesty that I do not know where it is.
Well that's f'in wonderful. So it could be in the hands of anyone...including those who would use it against your own citizens? You deserve that "cold, drafty, leaky house".
If this isn't a troll, then you're being extremely shortsighted.
First of all, the NASA concept test with a Saturn 5 to see if it was feasible to put a man on the moon? All flight testing starts small before dumping gobs of money into a finished product.
Second, no company is receiving a grant to do this work. It was all done by researchers at NASA and UAH. Did you even read the article?
Third, I live in Huntsville(not associated with NASA or this program) and the weather here sucks for flight testing. High winds, rain, occasional tornadoes, etc.
You're post is beyond critical, it's absolutely ridiculous. And whoever moderated it as insightful needs to have their mod priveledges revoked.
This makes no sense and reeks of anti-american sentiment. If you want to solve this problem, you force China to accept the risks and refuse the imports. From there start calling your local congress-critter to reform recycling laws. Both sides need to take responsibility and that includes each and every one of us that is reading this on a PC.
I know very little of the condition, but considering autistic people have some extraordinary abilities, is it possible this could be an evolutionary step?
I'm in the middle of upgrading a pharmacy's computers to privacy "compliant" software that is supposed to be secure. One of the perks of the new software is the ability to use the internet for data transfers instead of 56Ghey. While talking to the tech support guy on all the details I'd need to know, I asked him whether the transfer was done VPN and what sort of encryption I'd need to setup. He got back to me a few minutes later and said there is NO VPN, NO ENCRYPTION done at all. This pharmacy deals with hundreds of patients a day and for each one, a stream of data is sent CLEAR TEXT across the internet. Makes you feel secure doesn't it?
this wouldn't work.
with terrorism? It's too bad people got all pissy since this method of prediction works fairly well.
best /. post ever.
M$ making this same proposal. Flame on.
and yet no one shows. I guess we have to wait until someone finds something with negative intent before a bug is fixed.
Mod me down -50....I don't care anymore, my faith is lost.
the DOS isn't supposed to start until Feb 1. Maybe this is related to some sort of network "hardening" in preparation. More info

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with technology and shouldn't even be here.

Wrong. The hybrid vehicles recharge their own batteries. Hence the term Hybrid.
Normally that would be humurous, but it's quite possible.
This is hardly an "Outlook-Killer" if it isn't written for the win32 platform.

I remember this from a year ago....
The Freedom Forum is a nonpartisan foundation dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit for all people.
and a "study" like this is a great way for them to get in the spotlight and receive additional funding.
There is no such thing as "nonpartisan". Ever. Be skeptical of everything you see/hear/read.

If this was Redhat doing this it would be praised.
Open source advocates are zealots? No @#$%@#$ way!
/. poster/moderator.
At least there are a couple of them (read article) that have an ounce of common sense, unlike the typical
with the workstation agents installed on the machines. Works great but make sure you check on the backups every couple of days.
I like to call that gap JOB SECURITY.
Now, please leave it alone.
