    Through places like PeoplePC you can get a shitty little economy winbox and some dial-up internet access for pretty low monthly rates. though this is just assuming (ass, u, me; the whole deal) I'd imagine the mother's reasoning was validated that the computer could be a big help with her daughter's homework and schooling. 'then why was she just sitting around downloading music all day?' the school year is just beginning, she's probably up on downloads that occurred through the summer.

    After dealling with all sorts of Earthlink hell, Im dedicatedly using a local dial up. Two bucks cheaper and Im connected a tad faster, not to mention they dont goddamned disconnect me randomly! But if you think you've got it bad, try using NetZero (paid or free, they're almost identical)

    Myself and a friend once used them as frisbees in a violent game of Street Frisbee Attack. be sure to stock up a gauze wrap (and pads) bandaids antiseptic and pain killers before attempting that one ;-) They start to suck when they break and you keep using them hehehe

    So, what happens when a hunk or "cloud" of space debri (of which there are many) goes between us, blocking signal? I'm no transmissions expert but the thoguht of it seemed comical.
