This bothers me in slashdot, of all places. Articles that reference Amazon e-books ONLY COUNT THE NUMBER SOLD ON AMAZON. NOT ALL E-BOOKS! Just like the earlier misleading story headline that e-books outsold hardcovers for the first time... NO. Amazon KINDLE e-books outsold HARDCOVER books on AMAZON for the first time.
There are plenty other e-book and physical book sellers out there that are NOT amazon. It doesn't emcompass the whole literary universe, so it shouldn't be written as such.

I second the recommendation for the FOLD book. I used it in college (also about 15 years ago), and I loved it so much I ended up buying an updated version when I ran across it at a Half-Price books recently.
If you've never done logic design, it will take you from the basics on.
Two years ago, my company had "No Current Plans" to move our MS Applications to their 2007 versions, but here we are, with Office/Exchange/Sharepoint all 2007.
"No Current Plans" may just mean just that... they don't have any plans. That's a far stretch from "we won't".
while the "Nutshell" books make great gifts for someone somewhat experienced in a topic, it needs to be pointed out that they're not necessarily the best option for a beginner.
But isn't a bigger issue the LOSS of blood at the scene of an accident rather than blood type rejection? Or maybe ambulances could carry this as a "generic" substitute.
I agree that the mandate is more "get people employed" rather than doing this thing right.
I fear a repeat of the "cablecard" fiasco, where companies technically follow the letter of the law, but still make things so infuriatingly unworkable that people just give up fighting.
