I just love Clarke's books. I just hope it is as good as 2001 given the technology available today and all. This movie should best another milestone in terms of space visuals just like 2001 did 39 years ago. The story in its entirety is awesome so I just hope the directors/screen writers wont have to cut many sections. Just like Kubrick, I hope the director is immensely genius as well. 2010 sucked really bad, but I am still awaiting other space odysseys (2060 and 3001).
It makes sense since y'all're

Ok, maybe my comment was a bit abrasive. I am thankful that FreeBSD and all the other unices are free, not only for US citizens but for any people all over the world. However, before anyone have a sort of 'religious conversion' agendas on these petty issues, I have a problem. Much the problem with linux and other geeky freaks today. You know coz of this particular community, I had to throw away my hard drive alongside my precious documents with it. I could never forgive that. I mean com'on if a newby happens to read these 'oh so great bsd' post everytime, he'd be tempted to try it and therein lies a big problem. There should be sort of 'no guarantee to work' label pasted too under these postings to avoid any conflict of real interest. About being imac being a perfect pc, therein lies a fundamental problem in your being. You are too biased, a freak even. Why in the world would I shell out more money for a hardware thats less configurable, less speed, less features and the only thing shiny is their case covers. I certainly think they're ripping off BSD community big time, which figures anyway, since all the mac users seem to be from the 'religious right of the computer world.' The other day, I was watching this show by connie chung on cnn with an apple freak who went at great, i mean nasty detail to nail down the bastard who ripped him off. On my eyes, both of them are nuts. And did I mention, had apple had its own way, we would have even bigger 1600lbs gorilla on our back, the only difference would be that Jobs would certainly take over this country and convert the political system to totalitarianism.:)
I recently installed FBSD 4.7 and the text based installer simply rocks. I bet you dont need a graphic installer just a text based installer but it has got to be more intuitive.
For Beginners, redhat 8.0 or mandrake 9.0 is a very good distro to start with. I have been using linux for over 4 years now. I started off with RH 5.2, then caldera 2.0, rh 6.1, mandrake 8.1, 8.2, rh 7.3, deb 2.2 potato and have finally settled to debian 3.0. When I had started out, I would so wish that these distros would be consistent, so everytime I changed distro, there was a big learning curve ahead of me.( I did not have any unix background untill I went to my university where we used solaris). RH 8.0 has done nice job of making the windows managers consistent. So when people make that big transition from windows to linux, they dont have to freak out due the different varieties(which is not a bad thing but its just people, they demand simplicity in life). Slow at first, then once they get feel of what linux is all about, ie power, freedom and cost, then they can move on to distros like GNU/Linux/Debian or *BSDs or even GNU/HURD,( this applies only if they are more interested in experimentation of course.) I've known people who're still using RH 5.1 afraid of making the transition to other distros.
Kudos to RH team for all the wonderful job they've done on 8.0 release

Oh yea, are you ready to provide me one? I didn't think so.
Anything that does not work on my laptop truly sucks for me and I think I speak for all the people I know. So who cares?
my last name is visa?
Welcome to Net Vegas where slot machines are networked...
Net Vegas will eventually move out of the city and into your homes using the web.
No it is not. Thank you for asking.
