There were direct methods and shady methods then just as now. Rome was also swarming with lawyers, salesmen and corrupt senators, not as different as most think.     I get 30 Spam emails each day into my gmail account, although they go straight to the Spam Box. It's still annoying that I they still actually come through though. That's what I meant, they don't end up in the inbox which is all that concerns me.

    My inboxes are spam ridden hellholes, and its just not worth it. Use Gmail, about 1 or 2 spams a month slink by the filter but other than that 99.98% spam free.

    I'm going to take a complete shot in the dark and say that hunter is an older profession than prostitute. That saying is complete BS. Since you admit to taking a shot in the dark how can you call the saying BS? A profession is something you get paid for, hunters did what they did to eat. Now arrowhead maker could be called a profession but they only did that to make money to pay for hookers so I guess the saying stands.

    Without astronauts, they wouldn't attract as big a budget, because that's what gets the bucks. Looks like someone's been watching 'The Right Stuff'. Come on, who can name a single astronaut since they ended Apollo? The space race is long gone as well as the glamor, no one cares about astronauts anymore.

    I think people have been more impressed with the Hubble pictures more than anything else from NASA these days. I agree that if they would have blanketed the solar system with probes there would have been a lot more to show in the way of pictures and data and would have gained much more public interest.

    I thought the whole problem standing in the way of terraforming Mars is the lack of a significant magnetic field. The solar radiation will just blow any atmosphere right into space. Also nothing to shield the planet from lethal doses of radiation. I would think this problem alone would make any terraforming project useless.
