"I think we've underestimated the life on this planet. The people have so much courage. Here they are hurling through space on a molten rock at 67 thousand miles an hour and the only thing that keeps them from flying out of their shoes is their misplaced faith in gravity."

If it is not removed by the company then it should be removed by the state. It will be removed by the state the minute that someone finds a picture of a senator out on a date with his mistress.
This article's been out for five hours and NOT ONE/.ER HAS USED THE WORD "PHASER". Probably because the guns from star trek are about the wimpiest looking things in science fiction.
I think it's not about the stopping environment change. I think what needs to be done is PREPARE for environment change. We can't control the environment - no matter how hard we try. The environment has always been changing. It's silly to think that we can control the Earth's climate... We can't control it but we sure have been affecting it. And it's not just about the climate it's about the ecosystem as a whole. When you add up the agricultural poisons in the ocean, toxic emissions in the air as well as the warming trend you get real scary soup with unpredictable consequences.
If we don't change our ways and just PREPARE as you say, then I guess we should start digging the tunnels now.
If you want my opinion, this is the best argument yet against the nuts that say that the way to stop gun crime is to arm the civilians. Nice try at starting a gun control argument you silly little troll.
Ban lawyers from holding political office?? Of course! It makes perfect sense to stop those who spend years studying law from actually making laws. It makes perfect sense to stop those that spend years learning a language that the average person cannot understand and clog the system with libraries of useless laws meant only to benefit the wealthy.
I've heard that nearly all of Bagdad is under control now It's so under control that a politician can walk through it without an escort or body armor, just ask McCain.
Then when the military LIBERATED Iraq from an evil dictator who had murdered thousands upon thousands of people during his life, Wow, with a statement like that I see the propaganda is working just as planned.
So, does the murders he committed justify the thousands upon thousands of people we killed to 'LIBERATE' them?
But Battlestar Galactica will definitely be a better show with an ending. I agree. A good story has a beginning, a middle and an end. When the writers and actors know that the series will end instead going on for some indefinite time I think they put more energy into what they are doing and the final result is much more satisfying than milking the show until everyone is sick of it (MASH being a good example).
I saw an interview with Carl Reiner who said that a TV series only has 5 years until the show gets stale. When he created The Dick Van Dyke Show he had planned to end the show after 5 years no matter how popular it was, that way the show stays fresh and the actors don't get burnt out. Sure enough after 5 years he ended the show when it was the top sitcom on TV.
Plenty of them. Any member of the church I attend is entitled to an audited yearly finicial report stating how every last cent is spent(pastor's salary, building expenses etc). It is also followed up with an explanation and a Q&A session. I also get to vote for the board who in turn votes for the pastor.
Any church that won't offer me that is one I won't set foot in. Or you could take responsibility for your own spirituality and quit looking for an organization that will be responsible for you. I have no interest in a god that needs paid mediators in order for me to have access.
Unfortunately the traveller would not percieve the passage of time any more, having been transformed into raspberry jam by the accelleration forces. Sure if you accelerate too fast, keep acceleration around 1g and the voyage will be quite pleasant. Halfway there you turn the ship around and decelerate at 1g, nice way to have gravity the entire trip.
Vista is a failure for the same reason OS/2 was a failure... APPLICATIONS! Please don't put Vista in the same boat as OS/2. OS/2 was a wonderful OS for it's time, what killed it was trying to emulate windows instead of just supporting native apps. Vista is failing because it is bloated and buggy with horrible driver support and does nothing that XP already does just fine.
Is there some forum or wiki, that will will allow for a collaboration of ideas for revamping of the internet? Or will the changes be dictated soley by corporations? Since everything else is dictated by corporations why would this be any different? The golden rule and all that.

It takes brains to dismantle our freedoms a piece at a time. It doesn't take brains to steal candy from sleeping babies.
