    How can a 30ms update time cause "Ghosting" ?

    If there is some sort of anomaly that disappears from my view less than 1/33rd of a second, I have a hard time believing I'll notice it. If some Koopa Kid is zipping back and forth from one end of my screen to another in 1/33rd of a second, I think I'll see a trail anyways, given that the human vision takes 1/10th of a second to have a light impulse fade completely out of sight. Or mind. Whereever the slowdown is.
    Anyways who doesnt like seeing trails?

    SHHH! Dont tell people that deadbolt locks made by manufacturer X have a flaw that allows anyone to gain entry into a house that uses them!! If we let people know that their houses are not adequately locked, then break-ins will be more common!! And we'll have to FIX the locks!!! and make them actually work!!!

    I think its highly likely that the people who are able to "Cheat" in this online game thing, whatever it is, are also able to find a hardware address spoofer. you are right, if they were trying to use it for some other purpose, on some other sample of the gaming population, it would probably suit them fine. If their expectations are for the software to simply keep out those people who were banned for other reasons, like bad language or something, then I'm sure they will be happy with their results. But if they are expecting to keep out cheaters, using technology that is incredibly simple to cheat, I think we can agree they will not be very successful.

    I guess I'm assuming that in order to cheat on this game, you need to know how to surf 31331 hax0r sit3z, in which case they'll most certainly stumble on a MAC address cheater, if thats not the case then maybe you are right and it will be enough of a deterent.

    I doubt it, seeing as their "Protection" consistently puts us in danger of being violently attacked by the angry victims of US aggression.

    The US Military is a bunch of mercenaries for corporate america. I think their "Protection" is exactly what the people wishing to form this state are trying to avoid.

    I do wonder what they plan to do about the current residents of whatever state they choose, in the case that they do not agree with the group's intensions.

    My research project is running out of money. And by that I mean, the $50,000 we managed to scrape together to start this research.
    Some walking set of boobies makes $100,000,000 to read a couple lines from a script.
    I'll read 1/2000th of a 2 hour movie script (Or roughly 3.6 seconds) if it'll get me another $50,000 (1/2000th of 100,000,000).

    Yeah, Julia Roberts is such a Great Person!! She deserves every cent she makes!! She gets 2000 times more money than the average upper middle classer, because she works 2000 times harder!! She doesnt work 40 hours a week! She works 80000!!!!

    Isnt this saying, "The domain name is a valuable marketing tool?" So how does that MAke nissan motor corp's case any better? If I found a huge oil supply in my back yard, could Mobile come take it because it would be valuable for their business? I dont understand their argument at all. If its SO damn valuable for business, how can they possibly defend taking this VALUABLE domain name from another business, just because it isnt as BIG as Nissan Motor Company? This case is _important_.

    I think the middle east has been the victim of imperialism for many years, and although their actions are certainly not justified, they seem to me to be a natural human (note: _not_ HUMANE) response to the economic oppression they have been living under for decades.

    This is a question I hear around the office all day long. How does the american public at large, or in this case, the slashdot community, feel about the response America has had to the attack on september 11th?
    I personally feel we are continuing to provoke such things through our economic agenda, and that what bush's policy has been shortsighted and really retro-active. Others feel that the world climate is changing for the worst, and we simply need to start protecting ourselves more. What do you think?

    Its only self-destructive because theres not a cure. Its only socially harmful because theres not a cure. So I think your comment would make a lot more sense like "Wow I cant wait til science comes up with a cure, so that rather than contain it by forcing a certain way of life on people who may instead want to exercise their right to have sexual relations with whoever is willing, we have nullified the self-destruction and "socially harmful" stigma associated with having multiple sexual partners!" And say it without sarcasm. then you wont be out of line anymore. Easy huh?
