I'm so sick of Uwe Boll. I just can't understand why this guy hasn't gone away yet. He couldn't make a good movie if his life and the rest of the Planet's and the Princess' life depended on it. I just wish someone would put him out of our misery.
I would LOVE something to force all those Win98 users to upgrade.
Maybe it really is going to be Linux' time to shine, as I'm pretty sure all those Win98 boxes would be able to run some lightweight Linux distro which of course would have IPv6 support.
People always run out and say that they shouldn't have to upgrade just because of some new standard or what have you. Yes, car analogies suck - but I know I have to frequently spend significant amounts of money keeping my car on the road. What's a computer upgrade in the scheme of things. Especially the low cost of budget machines, stick these people on a Celeron with XP, tuned down Vista, lightweight idiot proof Linux distro and wham. They have a computer that can't play games but at least it'll be better than the Win98 sh*tbox that they've been hassling their ISP support desk for years about.
I have to disagree with Windows improving. Vista is not an improvement. It's more like a facelift.
I love the idea of Linux. In fact I love doing 90% of what I do on a PC in Linux. However, I like to be able to play games on my PC as well, which at the end of the day is the real deal killer. I didn't spend $X to have to spend another $X dollars on a console with (generally) inferior graphics and often awkward controls.
I want games on Linux, damnit! I want OpenOffice to not feel ugly (I can't justify that statement, it just feels ugly!), I want to install my graphics card drivers with ease and not have to manually edit xorg.conf to be able to choose my screen resolution. I hate having to install GTK apps that look like dogshit. At the end of day, whilst it may often be useful to be able to micromanage your Desktop, I want the option to be able to, I don't want to have to.
I am looking forward to KDE4 though, just for curiosity's sake. At least they seem to understand what most people want from their desktop PC.

Don't you mean WTFV?
Agreed. I don't see the point in video unless they're actually showing up some fancy technology. ...Or, alternatively, they've got really nice jugs.

Limp Bizkit's 'My Generation' wasn't a cover of a Who song. o_O
Have you even heard Limp's version or alternatively The Who's original??
Lyrics: The Who.
Lyrics: Limp Bizkit.
Seriously.. Why hasn't someone put this guy out of our misery.
Approval process? Or sliding scale of how much the artist charges depending on how much they don't want to do it?
Now there's a good business model!
"'In Soviet Russia, I love hardcore gay hot grits smeared on my Natalie Portman poster' - hmmm.... well, that'll be $50,000 thanks"
Awesome!~
Bad spelling is it is own punishment????????
Bargain!
I do all my illegal activities on an Abacus.
Mwa aha hah.
I completely agree. However I appreciate the fact that it does it without having to be modded or voiding the warranty or some other rubbish ala Xbox
He just told you that so he could 'examine' your prostate. =D
Quadritto!
Wii Wii? That's a dumb name!
I propose the Wiiz.
Give it another year. Then the Sony will be on Slashdot's frontpage.
"2008 is the year of Linux on the PS3 Desktop"
In Soviet China...
Ah, fsck it. I got no idea where I'm going with this.
Oh wait!
In Soviet China, Tank runs over you!
Wait...
Mod parent insightful!

2008 will be the year of the Linux Desktop, so it's all irrelevant now!
But will it run OS X?
It's like an iPhone but uglier!

Honestly, I'm glad he wasn't a VW. There'd be countless comparisons with Herbie. God how I hate Herbie.
And hey, Camaros are cool.
