That assumes that the "journalists" do #2 & #3. If all they do is regurgitate press releases that are handed to them, they can and should die. But not because of Wikileaks.
That's exactly why I don't play. My "free time" is limited and unpredictable. Plus, as several others have said, I don't want the whole world to see how badly I suck. On a single-player game, I could learn the game without anyone seeing me in the "suckage" stage.
Actually I live happily (and debt free) without any credit card at all (never had one). But i agree with you that 3 or 4 choices of what by all practical purposes is a Cartel doesn't allow any room for free market pressure.
Really? How do you buy stuff online? Or rent cars? Even without debt, CCs are practically required for normal modern life. BTW, my deibit card has a "Visa" logo, so I assume they play the same games with them that they do with the credit card.
Yup! My iPhone is by far the most portable "computer" I have. It's a good way to read ebooks while getting my oil changed, waiting in a line, or eating lunch. But I never read ebooks on it at home; I use my Kindle or iPad there.
And only a machocist (sic) would edit a Google Docs speadsheet on an iPhone unless they had to.
Yeah, but if you targeted Windows, that was 90+%. Which is why there were few games for Mac/Linux/VMS. In the smartphone era, you have to develop for Android & IOS at least. There's no single 90% winner anymore.
Last 4? One of the systems I used to work on required the password to be different from the last 26! Also, it had an 8 char maximum, which made it harder to find 26 different words.
I had a run-in with a yard work scammer. I had had him do some yard work for me. One day, he claimed he had spread fertilizer while I was at work and I owed him X dollars. I hadn't asked him to spread fertilizer, and I only had his word that he HAD spread fertilizer (actually, I was pretty sure there was fertilizer involved, just not in my yard). He argued about it and even threatened to sue. I also noticed he was standing fairly close, in a somewhat intimidating manner, particularly since he was a tall man. He said that other people on the block paid him, and considering that there were several older people on the block, they probably paid out of intimidation, or to avoid trouble. I didn't pay, but I could believe that some people would.
I've seen parents give their money and property to their eldest son who then screws them (kicks them out of the house), and in the end its the daughter (who got nothing from the parents) who takes care of them.
So it's very messy. After all, you might "in sound mind and body" decide to give it all to your beloved cat (or porn-star), and not to your "good for nothing children and grandchildren". And you'd do the same thing even if you had the same brain function as when you were in your 20s.
That's a problem. Even if someone knows s/he isn't able to make good decisions, they might not know who to turn to. The parents obviously trusted Junior, otherwise they wouldn't have given him everything in the first place. Equally obvious, after the fact, is that trusting him was a mistake.
I've never seen Y. I've seen X. I don't clearly remember where, but when I look at X, I feel like throwing up, so I probably saw it in some stupid ad. I'll buy Y.
They pulled the same shit with V, which I thought was potentially better than FF. I missed the first ep or two, saw one or two, then they took a loooong break. By the time they returned, I no longer gave a FF (flying fsck).
I thought SG1 was great in its prime. It did go downhill, and shoved the Shark through a wormhole with the Ori, but it was great for years. I don't know about SGU. The early episodes sucked so badly I only watched a few eps. Maybe it's improving but it's too late for me.

Hell, I was recently sick 4 times in one WEEK! I probably could have gone in, but then a dozen people might have been sick 4 days the following week.

Bingo! I have a desktop, laptop, iPad, and iPhone. Each has a different purpose, though the iPad & laptop overlap a bit.

Time span should be considered. It sucks when they show the same ad 10-20 times IN ONE EVENING!
Oddly, I still haven't found anyone who felt safer from me taking my shoes off. Generally, it's the opposite as people panic and run.
I have a cold. My current voice sounds nothing like my normal voice.
Never use the same password in two places
Always use randomly generated password
Never same them to browser cookies
Never write them down so they can't be stolen
Is it just me or are security experts willingly trying to get us to just forget the twenty to thirty passwords we need to use on a weekly basis?
If you're using a password generator, how do you ensure that two places don't generate the same pw?

OhOh! Just how old do you have to be to have dementia/Alzheimers?

Isn't toner/ink some sort of - LIQUID?! It's common knowledge that liquids are very dangerous! If we let any liquid on a plane the terrorists win!!!
Just make sure to keep your windows closed.
Yeah, my first computer was a Tandy, back in the late 80's, and it had Deskmate.
I always thought Desqview was better than Windows at running DOS stuff. And it multitasked on ye olde 8088!
I'm an old COBOL guy. Java IS my 2nd programming language, you insensitive clod!
Actually, I tend to trust the malware vendors more than I do the anti-malware vendors *cough*Norton*uncough*
I thought it was "Do unto others before they do unto you.
Sometimes it works like this:
I've never seen Y. I've seen X. I don't clearly remember where, but when I look at X, I feel like throwing up, so I probably saw it in some stupid ad. I'll buy Y.
