I'd notice, even though I don't watch it. If AI vanished, a lot of crappy commercials about it would go, the "news" couldn't blather about it, and my finger wouldn't be so sore from turning off the TV so fast to avoid the AI blather.
Adversity is key to motivation, which most American children never experience.
I agree about adversity, but disagree about Americans not experiencing it. True, I was never in the same kind of hellhole that Asians/Africans are in, but just the idea of getting a job that had nothing to do with cow parts dramatically improved my work ethic.
They want to be football players, music video stars, movie stars, sports stars, or whatever else makes the most money and requires the least education.
Well, if it makes the most money, they would be stupid if they DIDN'T want those jobs. Hell, I wanted to be a famous singer, but people were more willing to pay me NOT to sing.
1) Indians aren't "Asians" unless you're from London
Really? Last time I checked, India was in Asia, which means Indians ARE Asians. I will admit they aren't the Chinese/Japanese/Koreans that Americans usually think of when you say "Asian".
NT had a security model, but nobody ever used it. Microsoft defaulted to a single-user admin account, and most developers wrote their software based on that. Vista was the first MS OS that had any decent security out of the box.
My olde iPhone (which isn't even a 3G) runs 3.13. It won't run OS4, but Apple doesn't even sell that model of iPhone. In fact, won't every iPhone that Apple currently sells run OS4?
In contrast, aren't there Androids currently selling with 1.6 or even 1.5? If so, that's a pretty big difference between the Android & iPhone in fragmentation.
I don't recall seeing "no pedestrian/bike traffic" on the highway I normally use. However, there is a minimum speed of 40 MPH. So, unless the pedestrian plans to run down the road at 40 MPH or faster, s/he should stay off that highway.
Sounds like Prison Break
on
Lost Ends

That, IMO, is also where Prison Break went wrong. I thought the first season was great. Season 2 was pretty damn good too. But by S3, it was getting into WTF territory, and after that I was yelling at the TV to put the show out of its misery.
I never saw Lost, but based on the comments, it sounds like it, like PB, was a great show that dragged on too long.
I've heard that Time Warner is better now, but in late 2003, my internet was down more than it was up. The service monkeys couldn't fix the problems, so I tried DSL. TW claimed their internet was faster than DSL, and it probably was, but the DSL worked nearly all the time compared to 50% for TW. And since I was no longer using their internet, there were no barriers to switching to DirecTV for television.
most normal people should know this by now also, how do you think it knows to install the windows version over the linux or OSX version (ie installing java)
Or, in the case of this crowd, how it knows NOT to install the windows version on our Macs/Linux boxen.
Actually, even if you're NOT using a location service, it's probably a bad idea to tweet about your girlfriend, at least if you're married.
Does the Pope shit in the woods?
Of course. All real Jedi build their own lightsabers.
Considering that I've seen an abbreviation for Special High Intensity Training, I'd say there's not much that isn't taken.
Well, at least their direction agrees with the lights. It would be worse if it disagreed with them. :)
They also come in handy when you need to change the light bulb in that high fixture. Grandmas tend to be a bit short.
Luckily, USA telcos aren't in charge of the snail mail, or we WOULD be charged for incoming. :P
1. Grandma doesn't have WiFi (or any internet) at home
2. Grandma doesn't want to pay ATT 3G when she already pays for her olde landline.

Part of me is ashamed that I saw those episodes of Voyager. And didn't have to go to Wikipedia.
So, does that mean that 100,000 is an order of magnitude greater than 89,999 (rounded up to 90,000 5 digits) ?
I agree that they don't "love" their tools. But that might say more about the tools than their pragamtism.
Everyone knows Google isn't evil. I trust them. Yaaaaaa! *sound trailing in the distance*

Unfortunately, as the saying goes, you can't get blood out of a turnip.
I've actually seen people complain about the French, even switching the letters to make it a fish.
So far, I've never seen anyone censor the Latin word, but that's probably because nobody normal uses it.
But this DOES sound like a load of carp!
