The CURRENT release of RH has KDE3. The CURRENT release of Debian does not. Whether that matters or not depends. Some bosses don't mind using near-obsolete software, but others do. And no boss would ever use "unstable" on his machines. Yes, I know it's as reliable as RH9 (and far more reliable than Doze) but I'd never convince him of that.
It depends. Certainly no boss I've ever worked for would even consider testing or unstable. However some might ask why every distro but Debian (stable) uses KDE 3 instead of KDE 2.
Fine - if you're a computer geek. But try convincing your PHB to try Debian "unstable". Or even "testing". Try to explain why Debian's stable version has software from the last century.
My normal distro is Slackware, but I've tried both RedHat & SuSe, and IMO, SuSe is easier than RH, cheaper than RH (free updates on multiple machines), and better than RH!
So, I guess you've never spent 10 minutes trying to find a tape you didn't mind recording over. And I guess you've never gotten home 15 minutes late and wanted to watch your show from the beginning right now. And I guess you've never been interupted watching TV and wished you could pause it while you dealt with the interruption.

Doesn't bother me. When I heard about that, I checked my Tivo's ToDo list, and I didn't have a single NBC program scheduled. NBC needs to give us decent shows, not fsck with the times.
I just checked. I had my index finger on Alt, my third finger on Ctrl, my pinky on Del - and my middle finger sticking straight out. I guess that IS the right way to do it.
I haven't had KDE crash in years. NT4 at work blue-screens several times a month. I'll admit that's an improvement; Win9.x crashed several times a DAY!
Not a desktop? Maybe not, but it was sure a lifesaver on my old K6-450 with 64M RAM! KDE3 was almost unusable on that box. Even on my P4, Xfce is much faster than KDE/Gnome.
Actually, you probably are!
But then RH told me it wasn't ready for the desktop. So, I guess I'll use Slackware!
Does that make a BSD user a BS-er?
If they do chose NoSe, I hope it RUNS ok.

SuSe would be my choice. I've heard good things about Mandrake, but I've had problems with the 8.x versions and I haven't tried 9.x.

But BSD is dying! Oh, wait, I guess RedHat is dying instead.
It's NOT just a word! They also have a picture of the damned thing! It's EVIL, I tell you! EEVIL!
You said it yourself. It survived by luck! It just as easily could have sunk without a trace.

I haven't noticed any problem.

That wasn't singing, it was screams of pain!
Those sitcoms are already silly enough that a duck probably wouldn't hurt it much. But if one of James Bond's women use Tampex's, I'm quitting!
The last time someone gave out a real number in a movie, people actually called it! They'd better stay with the 555's.
I don't use Doze at home. When my boss upgrades to a Windows that was released in this century, I'll see if it's gotten any more stable.

Must've been a long time ago. I haven't had any problems with X, KDE, or Mozilla in ages!

If a shitty app blows itself up, it's a shitty app. If it blows up the OS, it's a shitty OS! A good OS should be able to deal with shitty apps.
I faile toe understand whut's rong with Quayle's speling!
