    I don't know how CVS does it, but KMart claimed to email receipts, but usually never showed the email button and spit out the damn things before I could say anything.

    I know someone who not only votes Dem, but also frequently bad-mouths the Repubs. She voted for Trump in 2016, just because she couldn't stand Hilary. She probably would have voted for any other D except her.

  11. Personally, I'd rather see a "kill a character" vote

    Worked for removing the Jason Todd Robin from the Batman comics. DC offered a poll (with a 1-900 number) in 1988 to see if that particular robin should be killed, and the result was overwhelmingly for death. He stayed dead for quite a long time, too (forever, by comic book standards, it used to be said he was one of two characters who would actually stay dead, but they eventually brought him back).

    Didn't they bring back the other one too?

    The biggest change I've seen in public transportation is when they removed a bunch of stops, so you have even farther to walk to the bus stop.

  15. It's true; in my day, when I walked down the street naked at 2 am I consistently got a savage beatdown. Looking back, I'm honestly grateful to my assailants; how the heck else could I have learned?

    I didn't have that problem. When I walked down the street naked, people fled in terror, fainted, or threw up in the street.

    Been there! I remember one mass of code that I called "spaghetti code with meatballs". For years it was unchanged because nobody but the original guy wanted to work on it. When he left they asked me to rewrite the SOB from scratch. Naturally, there wasn't any documentation.

    Given the choice, I'd rather hide from predators than try to outrun them. Also, if I knew how to lure females to me rather than having to chase after them, I would.

    I've had a few passwords that would have been a problem if I'd had to verbally repeat them.

    Being "nice" is also dangerous. Once I was preparing to turn left and the oncoming car stopped and waved for me to turn ahead of him. If I had done so, I would have gotten creamed by the guy in the other lane who didn't stop!
