If my mom had a serious health crisis, the only person to take care of her would be me, and I have a full-time job. If I had such a crisis, there wouldn't be anyone, no kids, and I've already outlived my SO. So much for family.
Gnucash and Moneydance are probably the best alternatives. They don't have all the features of Quicken, but they don't force you to "upgrade" to a version that's worse than the previous one.
I always snicker when I hear of English being the lingua franca of anything. If I'm not mistaken, 'lingua franca' means literally 'French language' and stems from the days when French was the international language.
My final Time-Spectrum bill was a whopping $200+! I chopped it in half by switching to Google Fiber with local channels only. Since then, I've added quite a few streaming services and it's STILL cheaper than Spectrum, and that's before cutting the locals, since Hulu Live gives me those.
Heh! My GF once told me about a walk she took with her sister. At the time my GF was more used to walking than her sister, and the sister wanted to walk father, and the GF was saying "You realize we have to walk back too?", but the sister didn't listen (must run in the family;) ) Afterward, the sister was whining, "I don't ever want to walk again!".
I was more bored in my 30s than I am now nearing 60. My main issue now is not enough time to do much. Maybe I'll get bored again after I retire, but right now I don't have time to get bored.
The best thing about going to the cloud, is when something breaks because of Microsoft your clients believe you.
Governments don't care. They'll fine you just the same if you can't file the paperwork before midnight.
Unless they can't because their Microsoft computers are down too.
The only chips that go in my body are potato!
Haven't there been stories claiming a helium shortage? Just because it's common in the universe doesn't mean it's that common here on Earth.
That said, hydrogen IS common here. The oceans are full of it if you can extract it from the water. So, we probably won't run out of it.
Technically, the release date should be 1810 for the version that deletes your files, or 1811 for the one that (hopefully) doesn't.
Good idea, if you're using an OS that doesn't auto-install bleeding edge software.
Now you're regretting it.
Nope. DOS 5.0 was the last great OS from Microsoft. It's been downhill ever since.

Sadly Gnome 3 sucks more than Windows Vista
Sounds like a good reason to use KDE. :)
Aren't there still a bunch of states that don't have RealID? I know Missouri doesn't.
HA!
Oops, was that out loud?
Windows on a proper computer is a dog's breakfast. I wouldn't wish it on someone stuck with a tablet.
Dog's breakfast? Is that before or after the dog's eaten it?
Anything you can do on a tablet, you can do 100x times faster on a desktop
Including entertain yourself at the grocery store while waiting for your carpooling roommate to finish shopping and meet you by the checkout?
A tablet's too big to lug to the store. I use my phone for that.
Why? My iWatch shows 24 hour times fine. :)
For me, that would work okay. The date would change at 6PM my time, right when I was on my way home from work.
I live in Western Missouri. When I visited my aunt in Eastern Iowa, I noticed a difference in when the sun set.
I change my car. My alarm panel changes wrong (it "fell back" twice") so I reset it manually. Everything set automatically.

I don't like using French words. They fatigue me.

But if your microphone is on, the barking will give it away.
Every so often we have runs or bike runs for some disease. Streets are blocked off, and officers are directing traffic around the mess.
Though I don't walk 15 minutes every 2 hours, I do usually get in 1-3 15-30 minute walks around the parking lot every workday. I think that helps.
I've already decided that when I go, I want to get shot by a jealous husband after boffing his wife. Quick, painless, and after a good time.

To that, I say Neigh!
