    Apple's WebCore is a fork of KHTML and KJS, does anyone have information if Safari/WebCore is effected by this vulnerability?

    AMD64 platform users can't run a native Firefox with the Macromedia Flash plugin under Linux. That's a bit different from asserting "zomg AMD64 Firefox doesn't work with plugins".

    Just change the clause to the version you like. Yes, other people out there have the option of redistributing the code under GPL 3 if they downloaded the earlier version, but so what? My guess is GPL 3 will be more strict than 2.

    Machine-readable passports are an ICAO standard, not a US government demand. Also, you can enter the US if your passport lacks an MRZ, but you need a visa in advance. Having a passport with an MRZ and being a national of an eligible country makes you eligible for the United States' visa waver program.

    Start > Run > sfc /scannow > insert your Windows XP disk

    Yes, it's not as convenient as reinstalling Firefox, but it is possible to "restore" IE without reinstalling Windows.

    Unless it is in the public interest. Novak's outing of a CIA agent has a far greater arguement for being in the public interest than revealing the CPU speeds of the next iMac (or whatever).

    Because of Moore's Law, the cost and efficiency of supporting x86 (that is converting from legacy x86 architecture to the native RISC-like architecture of Pentium Pro and newer CPUs) decreases over time. So, um, no.

    Under the new laws, an ISP or ICH will face penalties of $11,000 for the individual and $55,000 for body corporates if they are made aware that their service can be used to access material that they have reasonable grounds to believe is child pornography or child abuse material and they do not refer details of that material to the AFP within a reasonable time.

    It sounds like the impact of the new law is that if someone phones/emails an ISP and reports a kiddie porn web site, that ISP has to pass it on to police.

    Advertising on Wikipedia does NOT admit ads are going to happen - it states that Wikipedia is currently being supported by donations from non profit organisations. This is because, at least according to the page, the current costs of Wikipedia are bandwidth and server hardware upgrades - unlike in 2002 when Larry Sanger was a paid employee. To quote:

    "To achieve my long term goals for wikipedia (including distribution to everyone on the planet!), funds will likely be required. We'll figure that out in the future, but donations to the nonprofit organization is my preference. Jimbo Wales"

    It's a good thing for Apple, but only when compared to Apple not having software patents and other companies having them. Eliminating software patents (as I'm sure you all know) will help everyone - not just the big end of town like Apple.

    Two patents in the Think Secret story shocked and utterly appalled me. The first was Apple patenting a text field to search for files on a computer. I mean, really.

    The second - Steve Jobs is listed as a designer of the QuickTime 4 user interface. How can someone so brilliant be so stupid at times!? ;-)
