i dunno, i saw jello several times on the punk voter tour, and i found that he didnt have anything very intresting to say. KD rocks, but jello needs to give it up. sorry.
bout 15 to 20 percent of the registrations for the Philadelphia Inquirer turned out to be bogus, a figure that was much lower than I would have thought.
I thought the same thing, but almost every time i ask a nontech-savvy person, they tell me they put their real info in. Also, many of these people will also put your email in to those 'send this to 5 friends for $1 off!' type deals. I have had to teach everybody in my family that when you do things like this it adds to spam. Some of them seem to think that its wrong to give fake information, or that you may be tracked down or something. people need to be educated about this stuff!
there was a recent issue of nuts and volts that had one of these as a project, though putting it in a phone is a cool idea. Would be good to have when your stranded, im sure it would be nice to have a small "Got JmprCabls?" sign when needed
My mom is getting bored with learning the basics of email and has mastered Solitaire. She asked me what I do on my computer and I told her that I was teaching myself programming in Scheme. She expressed an interest in learning what I was doing
I can tell you right now, that is a very bad idea. All you are doing is giving her something else that (very) complicated, which will do nothing be make you recieve 10x more call with her saying "my computer is broke!" Comile errors will be then next form of computer not workingness. You will quickly see that most people are not capable of programming (or at least not learning it on their own), and should just not attempt it.
KaZaA however is part of a 'closed' network, which has very few (two maybe?) clients. That is more of a kleenex vs tissue argument. limeWire however is very much on an open network with many hundreds of different clients. calling limeWire a network is like trying to say that IBC root beer is just a pepsi.
The idea is to encourage a larger pool of developers to tinker with the code and improve the bug-finding process.
Yes, this truly is fantastic. You have to love it when a company releases source code to the community, because they cant be bothered fix software bugs themselves...but still refuses to release the code to their flagship software, whos bugs create some of the worlds largest security issues.
my college has free coppies of XP, 98, win 2k3, and a bunch more M$ crap, for those of us in CS, none of them require activation, and can all be upgraded, im sure many people just pirate these.
Crazyness, i just went to a taping of the screen savers last week! that show is great, I even got to shake hands with one of the cofounders on the EFF... Uh....does this make the screen savers Tshirt i got a collectors item?
I call upon the self-proclaimed conservatives who never tire of claiming they're against "big government". Stop for a minute punctuating every sentence with "terrorism," and "support the troops; we're at war!" like some sort of right-wing Speak and Spell. Remember this on election day: Bush believes the PATRIOT Act should be renewed and celebrated [msn.com]. There's your big government, pal.
First off, not all us conservatives are against big government (see:the ones in power). Us classical liberals however are very much conservative, but have no choice other than to live with the fact the the government is much larger than it should be. I would like to know how you align yourself politically if you are for a smaller government?
What ever happned to outnumbered, and number munchers, and other cool learning games i played as a kid? Make more games like those, i remember fighting to play them!
What will make it less secure is people using it without and idea of what they should be doing for security. Unless the average user can install it out of the box (they like boxes) and have all their security issues taken care of, they will most likley live with no security at all.

Yes, of course a movie lacking sound is really not worth seeing IMHO.

I can't wait to see what the original zelda theme sounds like when a full symphony plays it.
