"If these were French Canadians talking about "language preservation" in Canada, most English speakers would think they were absurd. Now, when the situation is reversed, English speakers think they have the right to behave in the same absurd way."
That's only b/c we hate French Canadians in general;)
"We want to leave, we want to leave" Ice Storm "We need your help" Oh shut up.

No, it's not just the employees fault. I'm sure Microsoft knew full well what he worked on before and what he might do with that knowledge. And as far as what he did, he did not "hack" into the servers. He used an old account to get in. The company has to be accountable too. Just like google
Have you ever watched WWE Raw on TSN? Anytime there is guy to girl violence it is edited out. The rule is it's allowed only if "it's vital to the storyline".
So unfortunately we got to see a guy mimic sex with a corpse while we can't see a guy chokeslam a girl after she kicks him in the nuts. Go figure.
I think we need to be clear that there's a potential interconnect between the actions of Orkut the programmer and Google (the company he works for). It may well be that Google believed they were getting something written by a guy that I'm sure mentioned in his interview that he had worked on this social networking software and figured that he would bring his "knowledge" over to work on their new project. I tend to believe that if any infringement did occur, that is the story behind it, and Google full well knew what his likely actions would be and if not the management there should learn how to better keep tabs on employees previous jobs to avoid this sort of scenario.
You need to have an "X" in there. That makes it extreme! Like RAM-X or maybe XRAM. You can even modify CSV with it it too. CSV-X. XCSV. X-CSV. CSVX. CSVeX. The possibilities are endless!
Monopolies create competition? When then what's with all these anti-trust trials. Shouldn't we just let it all play out and allow them to "shoot themselves in the foot"? "Lie in the bed they've built"? "Wallow in the mud that they created"? "Reap what they sowed"? I can keep going since I'm sure I've heard 'em all on/. by now. My brain is going to freaking explode if I see any more damn hypocricy and contradiction related to microsoft on this damn site. thank god it's friday and I have a busy weekend so won't get a chance to look at this freaking site. Until Sunday night when I'll have to catch up on everything I missed. Sigh.
Have you ever dealt with people before? "faulty" should not be used when asking someone to get something done. Suggest improvements but never berate the design. People are naturally defensive about things that they've built or overseen. And don't say "I object most strongly". Quite frankly, that's just lame.
How about:
I am concerned about the security risks that may be inherent in forcing clients to view your site with Internet Explorer. This browser has often been shown to be very insecure and yadda yadda yadda.
"It's also pretty common wisdom among the anti-spam activists that the spammers claims are wildly inflated."
That is if you take the word of activists I guess. I find activists words are sometimes the toughest to swallow. Mainly b/c you wish you could believe them but they get swallowed up so much in their own hype they end up not being much better off than your typical PR stunt people.
Well hey, if you guess that they don't then we better believe you right? Right? Geez. Nothing like making an unfounded claim and then saying it's unfounded.
Yeah but it's reminding me of late night infomercials. I see it in half of your posts.
Yes, you need to get the word out but good god, relax a little on it. You don't need to plug it every time. You have 6000 people. If each of them tells a few people about it b/c they like it and believe in it, soon enough you'll have your 20K.
Word of mouth passing along just has a much better appeal to it than one guy continually harping on it. But maybe that's just me.
No but you have the choice of many other ones don't you? Including free ones.
>>The private devel community for windows is pretty much non-existant and it just sucks to write windows applications.
Thanks for the hard facts.
>> Next, i don't like viruses. And with windows all i need to do is jack in the ethernet cable to get at least 2 viruses.
Yup. But you can take measures against it. It's not a defense of the amount of viruses out there but I'm just saying.
>> Next, i like to brag about my uptime. My slackware box has > 1 year of uptime. My record in windows is ~ 2 weeks.
So do I. I like to brag about how my XP box has been stable for the past year save for 2 crashes (alpha level display driver) and a reboot to apply a service pack. And how my 2000 box at work was running for 4 months straight with no problems until I had to stick in a new hard drive. Now it's on it's 3rd month since the new one.
>> Next, i don't like the idea of not being able to read the sources of what i run.
Fine. But do you honestly read the source of everything you run? Have you ever completely gone through the linux kernel? And KDE/Gnome/whatever? And OpenOffice/KOffice? And the myriad other tools you use every day? If so, that's impressive.
>> Next, bill gates is evil and eats little children.
Only sometimes?
and that's what their research determined their user base wanted. How hard is that to understand?
Swing and a miss

It's fun to repeat what was said earlier isn't it

I think the hole extends way past the hat
Not that this makes your point less valid but the year is embedded in the url.
sid=02/10/07 means Oct. 7, 2002.
Now, why the url has a date of October 7 and the actual date is Oct.6, I'm not sure.

You're confusing "are usually" with "should be" ;)
Does it feel good to tattle? Run home to mommy now and she'll pat you on the head and give you milk and cookies for being such a good boy.
Hey look, innovative marketing. Why does everything have to have a precedent?
How's about a reality check for you. Given their market share, looks like they're fooling a lot of people.
As far as the bus tour, it's called marketing. It's what businesses do. Deal with it.
But at least we don't have all of them at once. But way to think things through.
So you're saying it resembles most humans then?
Yeah but it's reminding me of late night infomercials. I see it in half of your posts.

Quit hawking the Free State Project at every chance you get. It makes you and the project look desperate. Let it stand on it's own merits.

Way to kill what was already a useless argument.
