Children anymore are into nicktoons & Cartoon network's Cartoon Cartoon like Squarebob Spongepants, RugRats, Powerpuff girls, Ed, Edd 'n Eddie, etc that looks like it was made by a bunch of people that don't know how to draw, and the concept of these shows just stinks "The only nicktoon that is worth a hill of beans is the Wild Thornberrys." CBS has practically the same stuff that is on Nickelodeon.
Also, when it comes to Political Correctness, there was an episode of pokémon than never made it to the US because it had guns. Makes me wonder if Strawberry Shortcake "The one that was made in the 80s" would be considered too Violent today.
Nickelodeon was not always junk, it was a great network before they were bought by Paramount, they had great shows, The Mysterious Cities of Gold, Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea, Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, Banana Man, Belle and Sebastian.
Well, Jesus must have been a "Socialist Commie" according to your logic.
Matthew 19:20-26
20. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21. Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26. But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Just because they're poor doesn't mean that they're not working, there are some people that work 2 Jobs "and sometimes even their spouse has to get a job as well" Just to support their family that are poor, and there are some people that CAN'T work because of a disability.

If Microsoft buys Universal Music, they will then become a part of the RIAA. Then they will bri^h^h^lobby congress for the CBDTPA. And since microsoft supports the Republican party, they will have republican Support, as well as the other members of the RIAA, which, of course, supports Democrats. In other words, the Conumer Broadband and Digital Television Prevention Act will have Bi-Partisan Support, and we won't have any say.
Had he been selling one of these blank mod chips (which you then add a BIOS to yourself)
Why would you want to add a bios to yourself?;)
I doubt they'd have had such a strong legal case against him.
It doesn't matter, even if they have a weak case or even no case against him, they can keep suing until he gets extremely buried in legal fees that he has to declare bankruptcy.
Don't want to interrupt your little rant there, but Hippocrates was a greek guy. Doctor. You know, "Hippocratic Oath"?
D'oh, That's what I get for replying at 2 in the morning.;)
criticizing people in Texas for having poor grammar and word-selection skills.
I'm in Texas (against my better judgement), and I'll put my grammar skills in my native tongue up against anybody on the planet.
Maybe you shoudn't reply that time of the day either, because it seems you didn't read my post. What I said was "High School Students in texas, in TEXAS For crying out loud, don't even know where Mexico is, heck I knew someone in high school that thought Washington DC was in Washington State." When I mentioned Grammar, I said that it was a problem not only in Texas, but everywhere in this country, Including here in Richmond Indiana. When it comes to Education, the US ranks 13th of 16 Industrialized Nations in education. And the states just keep cutting back on education, and would rather pay for a new stadium for a local sports team or build new prisons than have proper funding in education.
I have to agree with you on this, but, with readily availiable food, it is sad that so many people are starving in this country.
You have the best military in the world. You don't have to fear for your life walking down the street (well, in some places, you do, but it's safer here than much of the rest of the world).
The US has the highest murder rates in the world. People are not feeling safe anymore anywhere in the US, Big Cities, small towns, It doesn't matter. "Maybe that's why they are putting more money into Building more prisons than improving schools"
This is a nation in which *anyone* can get a job. Not necessarily a good job, or the job they want, but you can land a job that'll pay well enough for you to eat every day.
Those are drying up thanks to Dubya
I can drink the water anywhere in this nation without fear. Some places it looks a little brown, or have hard water, etc., but you can drink it without *dying*.
I take it you have never seen Erin Brockovich nor A Civil Action.
You have incredible medical care. I know many places have better systems for covering payment, and it's free in many places, but there's very few places in US where you can't get immediate medical care.
With the worst medical mistakes in the world. I mean, how can someone mess up on organ transplants by not even checking the blood type of the organ, or amputate the wrong leg, or wrong arm? And Dubya wants to limit the amount people can sue doctors? Also, prescription drug prices are astronomical. And Dubya wants to give Americans Prescription drug coverage, but, would have to give up Medicare/Medicade and join an HMO, which, BTW, is very expensive, expecially for seniors.
It's simply that, the particular set of advantages you get by being an American and living here on American soil is almost impossible to get anywhere else. Many places have worthwhile tradeoffs, but you can't get all the above just about anywhere else.
Oh yeah, education is better in other countries, for example, people in other countries know a lot about American History, but, a lot of people here don't even know who our first president was. Students around 13 Knows the names to all 50 States and their capital, but, High School Students in texas, in TEXAS For crying out loud, don't even know where Mexico is, heck I knew someone in high school that thought Washington DC was in Washington State. Grammar in this country Stinks as well, Double Negatives "I ain't got none", People not knowing the difference between "They're,there, and their", or "its and it's". also, a Newspaper here in Richmond Indiana had a headline "Richmond area starts UNTHAWING after storm". How can you unthaw? Correct me if I'm wrong, but, doesn't that mean "Freezing"? Oh, have you ever heard of any school Shootings in Germany, england, france, or Japan?
Now on to the RIAA, the thing I don't like is that the RIAA is going after people for "Stealing", but they are stealing from the Artists. Underpaying royalties, then when the artist sues, they blackball them and no radio station will play their music ever. Just look at what happened to the Statler Brothers after they sued Polygram (Which is now owned by Vivendi-Universal) You can't find a single radio station that plays their music. The RIAA is nothing more than a bunch of Hippocrates.
Same here, in fact, a lot of my music collection now is from analogue Sources such as Cassette, 8-track, and Vinyl. All I have to do is hook the player up to my line-in on my computer, record, clean up the music in goldwave, and convert it to mp3 & ogg.
You can usually find used cassettes, records, and 8-tracks dirt cheap, or if you need today's music, try to get it on cassette.
It may take a little work, but, that along with Blank CD prices being $0.15 and $0.40 per CD, it's much cheaper than getting CDs from the RIAA.
well, considering a CPU is a chip and everything in it is a physical thing, I do not think it is covered by DMCA
Uh, Hello? They do have the right because the DMCA is very broad scoped. For example, Lexmark sued 3rd Parties by invoking non other than the DMCA, and Won, and toner cartridges are "Phisical Things". Which gives Intel the right to sue under the DMCA.
Yes, nagware & time-bombware are two of the things that helped to ruin shareware, but, the biggest thing that ruined shareware, is the stupid crippleware, you download some application that you need, and then try to use over half of the features and you get "Can't use this feature because this is shareware, To use this feature, you must register it" even after they claim that shareware is "try before you buy".
How can you try before you buy if over half of the functions are disabled in the shareware version. So, then it gets deleted, which would mean that was time wasted "and not to mention if you downloaded it from a BBS Long Distance" which would mean that people were discouraged from downloading shareware.
But, there is still some shareware that is worth downloading, like Paint Shop Pro, at least it's fully functional "at least for 60 Days, which is long enough to let you evaluate it" and there's shareware that is like that, although its few and far between.
I'm willing to pay for software, as long as it's quality software, and I can try it before I buy it.
Yeah, and as soon as Reagan lowered the taxes for the rich, he raised the taxes on the working class, not to mention more of the jobs went to mexico. Oh, it boosted the economy all right, for the rich, a lot of small companies closed down in the 80s because of Reaganomics. Oh, what do you mean by "Smaller Government", if you mean less programs for the poor "Education, Social Security, etc" then yes, he, cut those as well.
IMO, the Conservative Republicans want to get rid of programs for the poor and give everything to the rich. If the Tax Cuts that Dubya's proposing is a guaranteed success, then why is Greenspan, the democrats, and even the moderate Republicans are against the Tax Cut? Most of the Rich are, as I said before, are very stingy when it comes to money. They hold onto it as if they only have a few dollars, that is, IMHO, why the Tax Cut will just put us into a deeper debt, just like the Reagan/Bush Era. The National Debt wasn't even $1 Trillion until Reagan got into office, and when bush Left Office, it was around $4.5 Trillion.
Went up $1 Trillion to $5.5 Tillion under Clinton, just 1/3 compared Reagan. But now under Dubya, in just 2 years, the national debt went up by $1 Trillion. Like I said in my previous post, in order to keep the deficit down, he will raise taxes to the working class & to small businesses, he will also cut funding to Public Education.
Also, if you would have read my previous post, I said that Bush gave several corporations Billions of dollars, none of which were in silicon Valley, the only "Tech" company that Dubya has been interested in is Microsoft, and that is to have the Anti-trust ruling in their favor, also, deregulations left and right isn't helping either. And when we go to war, that's going to have fuel prices Skyrocket, and will have the following effects 1. Not as many Americans will go on trips this summer, thus, more people will be laid off and there will be less jobs 2. Price of goods will skyrocket, thus, people will spend less, and again, more layoffs
And of course more layoffs mean Less money going into the economy, and of course, that leads to more layoffs & makes it harder for new businesses to start up. No new businesses in Silicon Valley, like I said in my previous post, Silicon Valley will continue to decay. States will have less money in their budget, so they will have no choice but to cut social services, including education. IMO, if Bush get re-elected in 2004, then He will get us out of the recession all right, right into a Depression, and once we're there, there is no way of getting out. Just my $0.02 Worth.

P.S. To the moderators, If you disagrees with me, Don't just simply mod me down, tell me why you disagree with me.
Actually Microsoft is not the only one to blame, Dubya's also to blame. 2.5 Million Jobs lost under his administration, and his solution? Give a >$300 Billion Tax Break to the stock holder (Read - Rich) on top of giving several corporations billions, that's not going to spur the economy, most of the rich people are VERY STINGY, so not much of that money is going back into the economy. In other words, trickle down Reaganomics DOES NOT WORK. Once Dubya gives his tax break, it will not "Trickle down" to the working class, it will instead go overseas and stay in the pockets of the rich.
Along with the National Debt skyrocketing, Dubya will raise the taxes on the working class and small businesses, in other words, no start ups in Silicon Valley, and Silicon Valley will continue to decay.
Let me ask you something, if anime is only a cartoon, why would it have such a following? Hey, Squarebob Spongepants is just a cartoon "and a LOUSY one at that, imho" and it has a strong following.
Your right, that is just an excuse, the devil doesn't make you do anything, if you do it, it's because you wanted to do it. The definition of Christian is to have a "Christ like walk". Christians need to be forgiving, charitable, humble and loving.
True, homosexuality may be a sin(Romans 1:26-28), but, if God allowed the terrorist attack in this country for that reason, he also allowed it to happen was several "So called" christians are back biters(Romans 1:29-32).
As Christians, we are not supposed to always talk to people about "Hell and Damnation" because that is not what Jesus is about, Jesus died for Everyones Sins, also, christians are also supposed to witness to other people of how good God has been in our lives "Like for example, God has not promised to let me see another day, butI thank him for letting me see it, thus, I don't take it for granted". Christians are supposed to love Everyone.
Christians are supposed to be Peaceful, the only place it mentions anything in the bible about going to war with heathen is in the Old Testament"
Christians are supposed to be forgiving, as in "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" and if Joe Schmoe were to do something horrendous to me, I would have to forgive him "How many time must I forgive my brother" Peter answered "7 times 70" which means endlessly.
Christians are supposed to be charitable. We are supposed to help people that are less fortunate than ourselves.
And most of all, christians need to be humble, as Jesus was humble.
On to Prayer, prayer DOES change things, I have seen it change People, and I will pray for the Atheists on Slashdot.
Also, Jesus was for the Death Penalty, BUT , he also said "For he who is without sin, cast the first stone" How it applies today is who would "pull the switch"? Because No one is Perfect, everyone has sinned

P.S. George W Bush, Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell are not true Christians.
