The same with wine 10 years ago. You'd tell someone you liked wine in some parts of North America and there was a good chance they'd think or say you were gay. Now drinking wine is considered normal. In some places people still think you are gay if you dress well or use gel in your hair instead of screwing a baseball cap on uncombed hear.
Wether someone plays DDR or not isn't a good means of determining their sexuality. Let that guy drink beer and put a baseball cap screwed on his head. We can have fun playing DDR, using gel in our hair and drinking wine. PS: my wife plays video games where she kills "people" and insofar I'm pretty sure she's straight.
I saw a pair of headphones which had an integrated earplug. I'm looking to buy one because it cuts out all other noise nicely and allows just music to reach your ears.
imagine telling a group of 10 cooks to make a huge roast. You wouldn't cut the roast in 10 pieces and each make them cook it seperatly and then glue the pieces back together. It would be highly difficult to glue back the 10 pieces. Instead it would make more sense to ask all cooks to do a seperate tasks. A few could could cut vegetables while another would make a sauce, another a salad.
As it stands today, an OS cannot easily share tasks. But there exists some tasks which are more easily shareable than others. I imagine within a century we'll be able to share tasks more easily and I think the CELL chip is meant to ease this transition but I could be wrong.
If you own your own business it doesn't really matter but as soon as you have to show people that don't know you that you can be relied on they'll want some sort of assurance. Even if this assurance isn't a 100% thing they'll take it over nothing at all.
really scared. There used to be a time where lots of funding went towards non military venues like space exploration. Now it seems that all funding of any kind is military.
The Chinese government scares the hell out of me and I'm hoping for a revolution of some sort. I think that pissing off a generation of people with such a crappy law will surely make a revolution come that much faster.
In Canada where I live they're talking about a centralised database for all medical records. They're thinking about how they can do it all while keeping people from needing a chip inserted in their body or having privacy issues about it. A way this could work is by having only emergency personel allowed to access the info without a key (PIN number you would key in) and everyone accessing the records would be logged in the database too so it would be traceable. It isn't implemented yet but they're thinking about it.
Why would we need a chip for such a thing? The law here says you should have your ID on you at all times and people with severe allergies wear a bracelet if they choose to.

But I don't want to move to work for the big guys because of personal reasons. If the startups and big companies still want to hire really smart people perhaps they should consider hiring people without requiring them to work in their head office.
I still play unreal tournament whenever I am really pissed at someone or something. I love it when he says "Godlike" in that voice when I kill lotsa "people" in a row without being killed once. Not to say I'd kill people in real life but I certainly enjoy the outlet when I feel at all frustrated.
We're mostly all using crappy computers akin to cars without locks on them. In some countries it's illegal not to lock your car door when the car is parked, you can get fined for it.
This guy is pretty much saying that an unlocked car isn't the problem but that thiefs are. I say they're both a part of the problem.
He's also saying that we shouldn't remedy the unlocked car problem but instead allow for harsher sentences if someone steals one car too many. I wish it were this simple. Detering someone from doing something doesn't go hand in hand with the harshness of the penalty. The most effective way to stop people from doing bad things is to catch them every time. If you cannot do that then measures like the one this guy advances seem acceptable to unreasonable people.
