Could this tech be used for medical uses? Such as the way they are using robots to perform surgery from a distance. Could this lead to better control? I know it doesnt have any tactile feedback but for certain things it could work.
Also, what about those who are crippled? If you have very limited movement of your arms/hands you could use these to move robotic arms or to control a computer. What about putting the sensors on their heads? I think the idea of using the glove mixed with a robotic arm would do wonders for those who can not even move enough to bring a drink to their own lips. Mix this with eye and head sensors and you really start things moving.
You can buy and sell used software in Canada at least. Electronics Boutique will buy your old software as long as you have the manuals and original CD's for the software. At least games anyway, I have never tried to sell a copy of say Windows or something. This goes along the lines that I have bought a physical thing, the box, cd's, manuals, etc. and that as with any physical purchase I can resell it at any time. It makes no difference whats on that CD as long as its original. The license only takes effect upon installation. Therefore if you remove it and there is nothing left of it on anything you own, you are not using the software that you only agreed to use (via the EULA) and can then sell the physical part (CD's,Books...)
Regular old broadcast TV is sometimes more clear and crisp than the others. It just depends on how far you are from the broadcast center and what kind of hardware you have. Spend more on a good antenna and you should get nice pics.
This slash post is in violation of the proper use of "eh" and had not been approved by Canadians for use in this format. You will be forced to remove it or face our most potent weapon. Yes, that does mean that if you refuse to remove the offending "eh" we will send our PM to talk to you... and you know what thats like!
I was also under the impression that the 757 & 767 were both smaller than the 747.
Both the 757 and the 767 are much smaller than a 747. The 747 is a "tiny" little bit bigger than the other 2 planes.
The latest model of the 747-400, can fly 416 to 524 passengers about 8,400 miles while the 767-400ER has seating for 304 passengers in two classes, or 245 passengers in a three-class configuration with a range of up to 5,645 nautical miles.
Its funny really.
I think (although Im not really sure) that its
illegal to crash a plane into a building on purpose.
Ok, the US decides that all crypto software must have
a backdoor in it. Ummm. I very sure that other countries
make crypto software too. Are they going to put in
backdoors that are the same as the US doors? No Way!
Not to mention all the current software that has no backdoor in it, is available.
Now, do you really think that these bad guys are going to
use that crypto software with a backdoor? I dont think so! Im more convinced than ever that
those running countries are as stupid as pig shit.
I have received many fans that people said where dead. There right, but wrong. Most of those fans are sleave and not ball bearing fans. All you have to do is pop the fan backing off and apply a little fine motor oil to it and spin it with your finger. Works for a few more months/year, repeat as required. This is the easiest way to fix a power supply fan as most are just cheap fans.
Wouldnt work. I dont have a fan connected to my mobo. It draws too much power and would burn it out if I connected it. I have a seperate power supply just for the fans!
He's going to come out of those 8 months a changed person.

This, was one of the most interesting comments about a sig that I have read in a long time... interesting or disgusting at points, Im not sure which really.
In case you couldn't read the faq due to/. effect. He states that he didn't know that atheos was even a word. He picked it as a short form of Athena (iirc) and OS = AtheOS.
Have you ever been to Brazil? No? I didnt think so. They are a Very poor country for the most part. I suppose that the word poor skips over your real grasp of it. Poor is not when they cant afford internet any more. Its where they cant afford running water, let alone clean water. The only political problem they have is in education of Brazilian people on the effects of AIDS. Although this doesnt seem to work as you can just look at our own "educated" public and look at how many new cases of AIDS there are every single day. I dont totally agree that they should just break this patent and use it as they wish, but what choice did they really have? They want to save their people from Death. They could have talked with the company I guess, maybe they did and where turned down? Who knows. These companies charge $100's of dollars for ONE pill. Most of these AIDS patients need more than one pill per day. This is just plain greed. Oh they do have to pay for the research, but Im sure they do that and then some in the first few years the new drugs out. After that they should drop the price to cover their expenses of production. Not to mention that some of this research is at publicly funded research facilities such as Universities. These companies give a big grant to them and in return get the IP to the research. Hmm didnt I just pay for some of that? </rant>
I noticed in an advert the other day for some DVD-RAM disks for sale... $50 CAN (~$30 US)
Who is going to pay $50 for something that only holds 5.2gb when you could get that for $5 CAN with regular CD's? Does a regular DVD Drive even read RAM disks?

The following is Simple and Works... simple.
I worked as a polling agent during a recent Canadian election. It couldn't be simpler. Person comes in, they hand you there ID and voter card. You check their name off a list. IF they are not on the list, you tell them to go over to the registration table. You hand them a folded vote card. They go behind a booth and check in some way a little circle next to the name of the candidate. (yes some did manage to mess this up) They then fold this again so nobody can see what they checked. It is then put in a box by them, the polling agent does not touch the ballet. After the polls close the box is opened and the ballets are sorted into piles. These are then checked by another person. The piles are counted and the number of votes for each cadidate are put in a document. The votes are counted again. If a vote is questionable its simply not counted and is put in another pile. Each pile of votes are put in a seperate envolope to be sent someplace.
How can you possibly screw this up? Other than having a whole bunch of corrupt people counting the votes. This would take an awful lot to actually change anything as nobody has more than a few hundred to count.

doesnt equal portable. This, while good for the desktop and possible TV applications, it wont work for laptops. The screen would be too heavy to cary around. Current thin screen technologies are made of platics while CRT displays rely on glass. While they wont be as heavy as your current CRT due to the fact that the tube is no longer needed, they will still probably weigh as much as your entire laptop.
