  1. @rsilvergun It think that is optimistic everyone I know is living paycheck to paycheck but that doesn't cover it all so parking, tolls, food and gas goes on the credit card. This has become the norm now-a-days. Taxes keep going up, utilities go up, insurances all go up, but the pay has stayed the same for years. So paycheck to paycheck with credit card debt (50K to 180K). Yikes! welcome to middle class.

Maybe it is where you live. I have friends that are Servers and they say the norm is 25% and if someone only leaves 15% they are considered a$$holes. Just passing on what I have heard them talk about. These are not affluent restaurants in fact some of them are chain restaurants.

  8. Because the Food Tastes So Bad on American Eating Habits Are Changing Faster than Fast Food Can Keep Up (bloomberg.com) · · Score: 2

I have noticed over the past 5 years that the fast food is tasting worse and worse. We have slowly stopped eating fast food because of this. Even my kids that LOVE fast food are telling me it is tastes worse than ever. In our household we now don't eat any fast food (McD, Wendy, BKing, Taco Bell, etc.) anymore. We do go to some good locally made food restaurants but that has come way down from once or twice a week to once a month, and are are not going to any of the sit down chains either, seems their prices have become way to high and now servers want a 25% tip, just can't do it. So I would agree that people are cooking more at home, but I wonder if it has more to do with the food tasting so bad now-a-days. ????

They are just freaking out because many states do NOT agree with the FTC. The people have spoken out we want fair pricing, non-blocked and unfiltered Internet. States are passing their own laws to put that back in place and the cable companies are freaking out. They want to over charge us and block streaming to force us to go back to the days of TV. No one has TV anymore that died years ago. The cable companies did not get it when we the "customer" were telling them we don't want phone, I have a cell phone, we don't want TV, I have Netflix, we just need fast internet at good price. The cable companies should have setup a NetFlix like service on their network and everyone would have dropped TV and picked that up, but they just did not get it. You would have thought they would have remembered the lesson learned by the phone companies; the "land line" in your home, we kept telling the phone company we like wireless phones that is what we will pay for but they did not get it and most of them closed their doors when everyone turned off the land line.

Again this better be able to be disabled without my kids being able turn it on. This is a very very very bad idea and will really piss me off because we just standardize on Firefox for over 50,000 machines.

  24. I know this isn't a popular opinion around here, but man, there is something deeply wrong with this much effort being extended for what at the end of the day amounts to little more than a vehicle for money laundering. Folks do know that if crypto ever gets big enough for the big boys to take notice (re: Goldman Sachs) they'll have it under their thumb in no time, right? We're talking about a market that a few guys in China were able to manipulate.

Please take the time to research cryptocurrency. You completely missed how and why it was started and being used. It was designed so NO ONE can control it, own it, track it. So big banks and government can't charge fees or taxes on the money. Yes there are some bad actors that are using it for laundering but that comes with all currencies.

  25. This is not for me. I don't like the whole 365 model. It costs way too much! MS wants you to think it is cheaper and you will be current, but it really is all about how they can make more money.
