    We have been exposed to Japanese culture/anime since the 60's, Speed Racer is a classic example.

    I aggree with some of the posts above. America is a leader in cultural entertainment.
    The Japanesse and the Koreans improve on exsisting ideas, American cars for example.

    We(USA) can't make cars worth a shit anymore.

    How is it that a country with no natural resources is able to make cars cheaper and better than America who have all the natural resources at our doorstep.

    That's the problem with politics/government jobs, if a junior person speaks up he is chastised and told to keep quiet.
    Or he/she is black listed and never given promotions.

    Or they make your life misarable that you quit.

    Sears is one of them.
    They announce a storewide 10% off sale but they are using the manufactures sticker price.
    So guess what, they aren't loosing any money it's an advertiseing gimick to get you to come to the store.
    Furniture stores are always having a flood sale.

    Car dealers are always having a sale.

    hmm if computers have come down in price over the years how come cars have not.
    Oh well, I guess it's going to take the Japanese and Koreans to force discount prices.

    Oh yes it goes booth ways!
    There are a lot of former flower arrangers who one day realized that network admins were making 60k a year to manage 1 server!
    So they slammed thier flowers down and decided to take an MCSE class and now they are flower arrangers again ;)

    Seriously though, I have that running battle all the time and most of the time it's management who shoots down my recomendations to use an alternative product.Yes there are really combative admins out there. I admit, I am one of them at times but I try to be just as pleasent to work with. Security is on the top of my list and if there is any programming or product that breaches it then that product or feature will not be implemented.

    I have nothing against programmers. We have two of them and they are a delight to work with, except when they start breaching security protocols because it makes thier life eaiser to transport data or they are given Carte Blanch over servers to do with they want. Trying to clean up after thier mess is a nightmare in most cases.

    Yeah they want you to know everything.

    Just like Wallmart hirring illegal workers to clean the floors and the other dirty work.
    (Well actually the managers of each store trying to save a buck so that he can get a bigger bonus)
    They don't want to pay union wages for some guy to clean thier floors and bathrooms and take a 30 minute smoke break on every hour and the floors still look like shit.

    In every job, economy and country there is always somone who is being exploited.
    The Haves have always exploited the Have not's
    Same shit different smell.

    This country (USA) was built on exploitation.
    The Hoover Dam, The railrods, Bridges and Tunnels.

    The IT hirring field is no different, unfortunately most HR departments don't know what the hell they are asking for. If you do get a job it's probably cleaning up the mess the last guy left behind. you can justify yourself by saying "Hey this last admin guy was really messed up". ;)

    Maybe some IT people are overpaid maybe not. Maybe because they now do the job of 10 Admins.
    Maybe everything is so streamlined now that you don't need 10 people to administer a network anymore?

    I have an IT job, barely. I thank God I am able to pay my rent and buy Groceries.

    Those keyboards were so nicley laid out.

    I consider them to be the Commodore64/Amiga of keyboards.

    Although I don't agree with the $250K bounty. I think it's better to have a bounty than to not have one.

    I am not as smart as most of the Slashdot readers here but nobody has come up with a beter solution.

    I know investing that money into MS to make the products more secure makes probably the most sense. But if Linux was the most popular OS (even with it's open source nature)wouldn't we be facing the same security problems with Linux now?
