As far as 3D games go, I think I'd have Driller in there. To my knowledge, it was the first 3D game with a proper functioning 3D environment that one could explore freely.
The IRA knew after 9/11 that there could be no return to the terrorism of the past, as they and Sinn Fein realised that much of their support would erode away if there were any more Canary Wharf type of attacks. Fortunately the peace process was well under way so this alternative could be pursued.
I actually thought the immigration folks were getting better. I go through US immigration two or three times a year and the immigration agents have become progressively friendlier to me. Now whether this is because a new policy to be more welcoming to everyone, or because they see my passport and visa and view me as a complete non-threat, I'm not sure.
Also, the thumb prints take a grand total of about 20 seconds more. I don't like the fact that they're doing it, but I can't argue that it causes me any extra disruption.
-Shitty resale value for the game itself
I don't think the resale values will be that bad - in fact with popular games it may be the opposite. Why? Because with a constant stream of income, the software houses will have more incentive to release new content for old, but popular games, keeping them fresh and their resale values high.
-Extreme difficulty or virtual impossibility of selling cars
I agree that it will be virtually impossible to sell cars, but is that *really* such a big deal? I usually prefer to create my dream cars myself rather than buying one premade.
-Need for net access to have a game that's worth playing (not all of us like to give our game consoles net access)
You have to accept this is going to be the norm for many games, and probably all in the near future, whether you buy a PS3, 360 or a Wii.
Err, the extortionist has the plain text password all along, in his head. He MD5s it and places that in the code, which also does an MD5 hash of what the user enters, and compares the two.
He's probably just waiting for that exact opportunity. Maybe nobody's offered him any cach yet. He's probably just waiting for someone like Bill G to call and say "Here's a million bucks to go do the tests".
Have you guys ever considered providing free accounts whereby more casual gamers could play for 5 to 10 hours per month for free? It seems like many players (or their parents more likely) cannot justify the subscription free on top of the not insignificant cost of the initial game purchase.
He may not, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that he's a smart software developer who can write really well. Kind of like Nick Hornby (who hasn't had the best of luck in his relationships with women it would seem, but can write about them really well).
That's the thing - I wouldn't want to use the Zaurus as a PDA - it simply isn't good enough in that department. It's a great portable network device, but I recall only getting about 45 minutes of battery life when I was playing around with SSH, Kismet and the like.

Not unreasonable, but completely arbitrary. I fail to see how anyone can draw any useful conclusions from this study.

Works with T-Mobile for me on my W810i.
You probably wrote it.
Tomcat isn't an application server. An app server is much more than a servlet container.
Me too - the thing is just screaming "CHEAPER, AND MORE FUN!" than the others with every new tidbit of info that is released.
Using the hash :p
buy.com has it cheaper than overstock.

Not rocket science.
I downloaded Opera Mini - which is a Java app - the other day for my w810i, worked perfectly. Seems like it's possible to me.
bahahaa.
Anwyay, agreed. I love the show, but $7 for *just* one Podcast is ridiculous.
If they're as popular as they claim to be, then charging a couple of bucks per episode would be much more reasonable.

It's not! It's CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP, just like the stupid Slate article!
Given that using one's cellphone while driving is illegal in the UK..that's a lot of potential tickets right there.
Ok, I'll revise your question with my variant.

Very true! It's quite simple really and doesn't require over analysis.
Agreed. I submitted a mostly negative review on an LCD screen that I purchased on Newegg; Newegg pulled it as it never appeared on their site.

But it always was a great little mini linux box, and now is very good value at $140. Pity about the battery life though.
A quote is also a noun mister smart guy.
Err, I don't think that's really him. Sorry to JBurst your JBubble.
