    At normal viewing distance, it's easy to tell if it's an upscaled DVD or a BR on my old 42" LCD. Very easy! It's also possible to see the diffhttp://slashdot.org/story/09/06/22/1339213/Blu-ray-Adoption-Soft-More-Still-Own-HD-DVD#erence between an upscaled DVD and a non-upscaled one.

    I've seen it in person, as they put it together outside my office window.

    Not much to talk about really. It's a Wind Turbine, floating in the sea, anchored to the sea bed by 3 anchor chains

    If Americans thought the EV-1 was a viable solution for the future, they're even more stupid than what we Europeans think.

    The technology wouldn't have been cheap enough for mass production for the masses for many more years. They've come further now, with the VOLT, than what they would've been with EV-1!

    Agree!

    I, as a 29 year old, have given up getting Vista to show 1080p and forwarding all sound through the HDMI plug.

    I admit, it was a lot easier to get it working in Slackware!

    I know... someone MS fans will probably give me -1 for trolling, but the fact is - Windows is not always as easy as people claim either.

    You don't know how it works in Norway, do you? The public broadcasting network is financed via a licence to own a TV Tuner (and those "the program is brought to you by "). If they need more money, they just ask the government to increase the lincence. It's not related to the tax.

    Oh, and by the way, they've got good quality streaming of their own shows as well, and have had for a time, both old and live.

    That's why we use Slackware... Nothing is being replaced until the alternative works better than what it is supposed to replace!
