I'd really love an "updated" Populous 1/Populous 2. Just make it run on modern hardware, better sound/graphics (use "real" 3D for the iso view, but don't add a moving camera, etc.), but don't change the gameplay, or even the levels, etc.
Make it play just like the original, but make it look/sound modern. Don't turn it into just another RTS.
Have you ever seen her "perform" on MTV or whatever? She could give localized performances in any language without changing her act; 100% lip-sync.
I'd be disappointed if a computer-generated "singer" didn't do that, in fact. We probably won't see one of those until the stupid American Idol shows get passé.

I don't think it really needs to be more difficult, although it does double your testing/QA.
Platform-independant things like SDL, OpenGL, and OpenAL work quite well on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux... but almost nobody seems to want to use them when developing a commercial game. Know anyone using OpenGL for a game that isn't based on one of id's engines?
I thought the board looked great, and I have absolutely no interest in a SLI configuration, since I tend to prefer ATI's video cards.
And, after being burned by the VIA Apollo Pro 133A chipset in my old dual P3 motherboard, nVidia is the only chipset manufacturer I'd trust for an AMD board.
I'm still waiting for the "shocking" pre-election surprise that will send public support for GWB and crew through the roof. Like bin Laden being paraded around at US Army gunpoint or something like that.
Uh... why does the charity have to meet some sort of vague degree of difficulty to be worthy? Your favourite charity isn't necessarily going to be someone else's.
The point of Child's Play was to show The Media that gamers aren't psychotics-in-training, and to do something good at the same time.
They do an online gaming comic, they're not the Beastie Boys.
YMMV. I've had no lockups at all on my Karma, no biking vs. hard drive problems, etc. It's an awesome little device, I like it a lot.
Battery life is at 12+ hours, being able to play an album, an artist, all songs in a genre, or random files without docking is great.
My music is mixed MP3 and OGG Vorbis; not having to transcode everything into MP3 has been great... just dump a pile of files onto the Karma and go.
Things I don't like about it... the Ethernet connection doesn't seem to be any faster than the USB 2.0 connection (which isn't surprising, it uses the same connector on the Karma). The little foam bits keep coming off the ear buds and are easy to lose (but that's Sennheiser's fault).
Very pleased with this thing. It's significantly better than the last music player I owned (an original RIO PMP-300).
How about hosting a Google Jabber server (being a standard now and all) instead of coming up with yet another proprietary IM system?
I'd happily switch off Messenger in favour of a unifying protocol. I'd use a unifying client (like Trillian or Gaim) but I don't want to create/maintain accounts on 3-4 different networks. And I hated the UI in both of those when I gave them a try.
Unfortunately, they've only been able to buy six Internet-able computers and three acoustic-coupler modems due to Kim Jong-Il's awesome management skills.
Just like self-signing Java applets, I assume. Users have been trained to ignore pointless pop-up dialogs (hey, Adobe, Acrobat really doesn't need to tell it it didn't do anything when there are no updates), so they'll happily click through the "Warning: this is self-signed, don't trust it, etc." message.
I've got my entire CD collection encoded as Ogg Vorbis, and it's around 40GB. But that includes stuff I don't need to listen to (like my wife's Celine Dion collection and Christmas discs), so a 40GB player would probably keep me satisfied for a long time.
20GB on my Rio Karma is mostly full, but I did have to leave a few good things off of it the first time I loaded it up.

All those extra 'u' characters in things like colour and flavour totally bloat the application.
And that's "American" and "English," thanks.
Just like TLAs, four-letter words don't need to have four letters. Bitch.

Perhaps some of us like long, complex games?

Heck, back up 10 years and you have... the world wide web. 1993 saw its birth.
And before that, Gopher.

Feh. Jet pack indeed. Kids today...
In my day we had to climb out of the bloody Saarlak ourselves, then walk several kilometers across the desert, naked.

How to install antivirus software on Mac OS X:
fink install clamav
Of course, then you'll have to add a cron job or something to run it periodically, or you can just run it by hand over things you've downloaded.

Under Windows, at least, there's "Rio Taxi" software that lets you copy files to the Karma's disk as regular files.
Mounting as a regular USB storage device would be preferable, but at least it's possible.

Inflation.
They interviewed 500 people out of 185 million Americans with Internet-enabled computers.
Wouldn't that be called a "statistically insignificant" sample set?
PNG can handle a maximum of 16-bit RGBA or 16-bit greyscale (see the IHDR chrunk spec).
PNG already supports arbitrary additional data blocks... no need to break it by adding a new "standard" for them.
See the PNG spec for details.

Audio for Anonymous Cowards?
The Rio Karma supports FLAC and Vorbis as well as the usual MP3 and WMA. And a docking station with Ethernet.
I'm enjoying mine quite a bit.
