I don't get LinkedIn, what's the point? Is it to keep in touch with old work colleagues? If so, then I either have their email address or contact them on Facebook. If I don't, then I guess I really didn't care about you when I worked with you all those years.
The only people who contact me on LinkedIn are recruitment agencies.
Whatever, losers, I'm just going to get the PS3 version which won't require an internet connection.
"But how will you play it on the move?" I hear you cry. Easy, I also have a PSP so I can just leave my PS3 on and use remote play via the internet to...
I completely agree that the cost of movies is getting stupid. I watched Transformers 3 last night (it's pretty crap, but the sequence in the city is amazing) and two tickets cost me 18GBP.
For the 2D version.
Fortunately I have Orange Wednesdays so I get two tickets for the price of one, 9GBP and then we split the cost, so 4.50GBP, which is a bit more reasonable and what it should have cost to start with (I'm in London BTW).
I think you should be able to stream the latest releases even while they're in the cinema. For some movies I'd stream them but others I'd go to the cinema to see them on as large a screen as possible.
Now the stupid admins and users with an overinflated sense of ego can threaten legal action just because someone edits a page and they don't agree with it?
is that you have to (AFAIK) buy a Mac to develop for it. I can't really fault Apple on this as it's a great business strategy, but I simply can't be bothered so I'll only make apps for Android, which doesn't require me to buy hardware.
If Microsoft wants their phone to succeed, they need to make sure that their SDK is available on as many platforms as possible.
I find Kubuntu Lucid LTS stable enough for me these days and cannot really see any reason to upgrade to Natty. I think I'm going to stick to the LTS releases from now on since the new features just aren't compelling enough. Anyone else feel the same?
That depends, on the iPhone a lot of $1 games are made free for 24 hours. It only takes 5 minutes of playing to realise that most of them fall into one of these categories:
Run left to right, tap to jump
Tap the screen to shoot the monsters walking from left to right
Farmville clone
Angry Birds clone
Most of these get deleted after 5 minutes (and in the case of the first item, within 30 seconds).
Games like Street Fighter IV are completely unplayable on a touchscreen. I don't think Epic really has anything to worry about.
Amen to that. A colleague at my previous company was promoted to team lead and then spent about half his day in meetings.
When quizzed by his boss as to why progress on his project was so slow, he complained that it was because he was spending so much time in meetings he simply didn't have time to work on the project. His boss simply replied, "But you wanted to be a team lead, and this is what happens!"

Sod video games, I've got the whole lot here in one handy wheel.
Simply give it a spin and there's your culprit.

shit.
3GHz for a SNES? Makes you wonder just how accurate MAME actually is.
Then again, when you go as for as photographing a rom chip under a microscope, I guess there's no doubting the level of dedication.
freely available to anyone at 0.5Mbps
So the same speed as what paying customers receive right now :P
Closer to home, the approach could provide Internet links of 100 gigabits per second
Throttled down by your ISP to 24 megabits per second
What if you really love cats?
Oh please, no one loves cats more than this girl

Come on, Wikipedia's just a website.
The only reason being that if it starts doing well it'll slowly become the new DRM.
I know, you could call it

I imagine that if it gets worse they'll start doling out the redundancies and a lot of people will lose their Rim Jobs.
Sorry, that was the best I could do with the time I had.

Until I can (legally) download albums in FLAC format, I'll continue to buy CD albums from a record store.
I guess they'll be using the shell to BASH the radioactivity out.

Thank you, I'm here all week!
I'm pretty sure it doesn't count as joining the Mile High Club.

No remote kill, it's still on my phone, but I guess it's not extreme enough to warrant such action.
MySpace. The website for 14 year old girls. And the 40 year old men that love them.
Unless you're going to sell it for nothing, people are still going to pirate it.
"Why should I pay for something I can get for free?"
And even if you sell it for next to nothing, will the increased number of buyers allow you to break even, much less make a profit?
Actually, I've just had a better idea
Steak and Pi Day
(Come on, this is /. after all)
