So... how can you expect people to read a huge book (isn't the new Potter book like... 1200 pages?) in just a few hours. That's just not possible for everyone. And I'm a really intelligent person. I had an IQ test done a few years back and I'm at 160. So put that crap back in your ass and stop stinking up the joint. Ok?
1. The book's 600 pages 2. Most of the 10 - 13 year olds would have thrashed it out in under 8 hours so that they could brag to their mates (and publish a review in the press)
IQ of 160 eh? Harry Potter is hardly challenging reading...
Hopefully this will prompt the National Lottery's website in the UK to let me access the Subscriptions part without telling me that my browser isn't secure enough.
Try going here using FireFox and you'll see what I mean.
I have a lot of music on my iRiver, but sometimes I just don't want to listen to any of it, and rather than spend half my journey hopelessly flicking from one album to the next, I simply just stick on the radio.
Some of the DJs in the UK are very good and put me in a good mood first thing in the morning. I do fear though that I'm becoming one of those weirdos that suddenly bursts out laughing in the middle of the street for no reason whatsoever.
This means that you will never see a candyland map for Uneal Championship, or the gigantic burger joint map for that matter.
But at the same time it means you'll never see Tekken, R-Type Final, Metal Gear Solid, Dead or Alive, TimeSplitters Future Perfect... I could go on forever.
The games you list are designed for the PC. The games I've listed are designed for Consoles.
You don't seem to understand why people prefer to play games on a Console than on a PC. Try making your argument less biased next time.
I remember at one point in the UK they were trying to enforce people to only store a recorded show for 30 days and then they had to erase it. Obviously this would be impossible to enforce with a VCR but now that Dixons have stopped selling them I guess we'll soon see PVRs with DRM that will auto delete shows after a certain number of days.
Having FireFox pre-installed isn't good enough, take this example and imagine I'm a Joe Six Pack.
In the UK, if I bought a new PC with FF installed and then wanted to connect to the internet, I'd have to pick an ISP. They'd then send me a CD (or I'd pick it up from a shop) and that would auto install their customised version of Internet Explorer and tell FireFox to push off.
Back to square one again.
What is needed is to encourage ISPs such as AOL and BTInternet to provide FireFox as their browser.
If they want to dick around people by only releasing the game for 3 year old platforms instead of modern hardware, they deserve whatever they get.
The game is coming out on the PC
At the end of the day the company wants to make money, why should they release it just for the PC when they can sell it in much larger volumes on the consoles?
1. Microsoft is sued by Visto Corporation
2. Microsoft buys Visto Corporation, inheriting all their patents
3. ?????
4. Profit as usual
may soon be available in print for readers in the developing world
I've never read anything so stupid in all my life! Surely they'd need a computer to view the article on the web before they can even print it!
Does anyone else see the irony?
When I eventually get time, I want to add that functionality to my D&D City generator
Making the link work would be a great start!
Correction
The company just announced support for PDF
I imagine that this will add extra features to PDFs which Adobe's (or anyone elses) Reader won't be able to handle.
Except Microsoft's Reader, obviously.
Anyone noticed that the gimp icon (on /.) is moving its eyes now and then? Funny ...
Yep, his eyes move. As far as I know, Wilbur (the name of the Coyote) is the only icon on Slashdot that is animated.
Here's the link to their announcement
Just as long it's not a giant pimple.
There'll be hell to pay when that thing bursts.

Hi,
as you can see in other messages, it's good pratice to supply a link to the tool so that we can download and test it. Does anyone have a link?
What I'm really after is an EPS to SVG converter so that I can use them with Apache's FOP tool.
Any suggestions?

There's
Project Starfighter
Blob Wars
Virus Killer
Give them a try. After all, they're completely free.
Why doesn't this correct my spelling?
I need to look for a specific word, but I have no idea how to spell it properly.
How can I find what I'm looking for if I don't know how it's spelt?
I'll stick with Google, thanks all the same.
Mozilla and Firefox will merge into one super borwser....MoFox... or perhaps FireZilla
Maybe they'll rename Firefox one more time and then merge it with Mozilla to produce
Godzilla
Sorry.
Just because we can't do it right now doesn't mean we never will.
100 years ago we would never have dreamed space exploration would be possible. Why's this so different?
But would this really have prevented his death? Maybe I'm just incredibly sceptical...

"So Microsoft's version is more secure then?"
Um, the link in the posting is broken. Amazing that so many comments about it have already appeared.
Come on this is Slashdot, who reads the article before posting?

It's absolutely amazing that the head of one the biggest corporations can publcily say something so totally and utterly stupid.
...
You obviously never heard
Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers Developers
It's been happening for 10+ years. One thing that has changed, is how easy it is for people not involved in the "scene" to get these releases.
The other thing is that it's now cool to play video games.
That and the fact that it's also big business.
If they want to dick around people by only releasing the game for 3 year old platforms instead of modern hardware, they deserve whatever they get.
