    No, I'm with pnutjam on this one. Relying solely on guns to handle the situation is a complete backslide when we have some pretty marvelous processes in place that make that unnecessary if we simply participate in them. The second amendment stuff is an argument for entering into an endless morass of violence instead of doing the dull, dreary work of keeping a close eye on what our government is doing at all times.

    Not to get all technical on you, but "life" and "liberty" appear in a rather famous sentence in the US Declaration of Independence, and the US has this amendment to the Constitution about unreasonable search and seizure. That's not true because I typed it. That's true because it is in our official documents as a nation.

    I don't know. Pretty much everything in life is negotiable. While I would personally rather work a little harder than that I can appreciate that there are people who push back. Is it laziness and greed or is it just bargaining for the best possible position you can get? After all, isn't that what business is all about?

    Yeah, that sentence turned me off a bit. It's a very cool project to be sure, but the "this has never been done before in history"--besides being redundant--is just a little too much.

    The minute you start to hook stuff up to that dev board you'll find there's a possibility of getting into electronics proper. Need a sensor? You'll learn about op amps, gain, noise, ADCs, etc. it's not ALL about the dev board.

    You must be reading a different Slashdot that I am. For instance, you should check out any post that has to do with gun control, s/w piracy or net neutrality.

    Also, Swartz's death is a sad story, but I'm a little irritated that so many people are using his suicide to further their own agendas, no matter how just they may be. He left no suicide note. The claims that he killed himself because of his legal woes will always remain conjecture. The guy suffered from depression, after all, and depression is a documented killer. Ten percent of people that suffer from it end up committing suicide.
