Probably busy ignoring your post. It has been pointed out above that the app that everyone is so excited about is simply government TV being streamed to the iPhone.

As for Apple maintaining complete control over their products, whatever. You can go ahead and install Windows on your computer and have Microsoft maintain complete control over your products.

So, I guess I'm saying where should I move to?

Get lost. The iPhone now goes for $199. How much do you spend gaming? How much did you pay for your last laptop or computer? I'll bet you spend that much on Cheetos in a year. I see that Sprint is offering the Blackberry Tour 9630 for $150. That's after a $100 rebate.

The iPhone is perfectly affordable for someone who decides he wants one. No need to live with rich parents. Unless you want to buy an HTC (http://www.nextag.com/htc-phones/search-html)

No really, it's a terrific browsing experience for a mobile device. I remember my Treo web browser and I would never want to go back to that.

You're not really getting the point, son. It sucks because web authors build stupid sites. Pay attention.

    4) "just look at how bad it sucks on a Blackberry"
Just as bad as it does on an iPhone.

Not all journalism is good, just like not all programmers are good. But journalism is not a bullshit job. There are some bad ones out there, but the very idea of journalism is reporting, not interpreting, and that is an extremely valuable service. If you would like your information thoroughly researched and verified experimentally then good luck trying to negotiate the real fast-paced world where getting the latest information has strategic value.

This is not a defense of sloppy reporting or for not verifying sources and facts, it's mostly a rebuttal to an incredibly broad and useless generalization about the profession of journalism.

Well, that's not what the article really states. It says "solar shingles can be integrated into rooftops with standard asphalt shingles" and doesn't give much more of a hint. As a guess I'd say that they might easily lay in place of a row of regular shingles or something like that, but the article says nothing leading one to believe that they can be nailed or easily wired.

It's also seemingly not very exciting news as companies such as Uni-Solar have been doing similar stuff for several years now, although I do not have the specs so I can't say much about the efficiency.

Similar experience here. I had completely forgotten about a pair of scissors left in the back pocket of my laptop bag. After flying out and returning I noticed them in there and couldn't believe that I hadn't been taken down at the airport.

On another note, I realized on my last trip that apparently they don't think terrorists will be flying first class. I noticed that when you get a meal in first class they serve it up with a nice set of stainless steel ware, including two forks and a knife (not to mention the nice little wine glass made of actual glass). I didn't realize Cisco VPN was a dev app, but it's something that I use all the time to connect to work. And it works every time.

And obviously the very last thing that Mac laptops are is brittle. I've seen plenty of them being carried around at work with caved in corners from being dropped and still working fine.

I just really doubt you've every owned a Mac.

When you have agencies competing like that it seems likely that they're also going to be keeping an eye on the other agencies, keeping them more honest in the process. When they all start cooperating I think I'll feel less safe, as a matter of fact.

It's the same with the political parties. Just the right amount of non-cooperation and competitiveness keeps one organization from becoming the oligarchy it naturally wants to become.

There are just too many people out on the road that don't even understand the consequences of tailgating. It happens to me all the time. I usually travel in the slow lanes (going the speed limit) and usually someone will roll up behind me leaving less than a second's distance between our bumpers, all the while there is plenty of room to pass me in the other lanes.

People are just generally dense about driving. They don't take it seriously. They don't think they're in control of a deadly piece of machinery. Top it all off with the modern notion that the car is the 21st century telephone booth and it's disaster waiting to happen.
