Also consider that a common gene was found in a large sample of sucessful doctors and reseachers that seemed to make them curious and interested in testing their boundaries. The same gene was also commonly found in another population... heroin addicts. It will not be so easy to custom design humans as one might think. After all, I'm a genius but that also came with my family's "raving lunatic" gene.

Mandrake Services is exactly the GUI service manager you are describing. It has a list of available services, whether they are running or not, the ability to start/stop them, and also to set if they are started at boot.
The operating system is called Lindows. One of its original marketing ploys was trumpeting that you could run some programs on it that only run on Microsoft Windows -- hence the name. The point is to remind people that if you are protecting something of value, monetary or other to someone else, you can not just rely on encryption. Beating you and/or your loved ones,ie. wife, children, pets is an effective means of getting access to something protected by encryption. Luckily I never tell my wife any of my passwords, and last time I checked my cat wasn't talking.
I still log in ocassionally to my old MUD, though I don't play anymore. Luckily they keep chars based on a x months per level.. so I got a few years or so : )
The IP address you receive is your confirmation number that you were authorized. If the AP is wide open, then it is authorizing all. Plain and simple. The internet is public property.
How bout having them slide your ASN's and Gigabit switches down the stairs of their brown truck door. I don't want to be on hold trying to get them replaced!!!
