I've had the music from Super Mario Bros. Level 1-1, 1-2 stuck in my head now for a couple months. I'm sitting there at work, debugging or something, then all of a sudden Level 1-2 pops in (Dunna dunna Dunna. Dunna dunna Dunna...)
Maybe I was the only one who noticed it, but the book is riddled with typos and grammatical mistakes that really make the information hard to absorb. Other than that, the book is very good and I recommend it highly.
Rain Forest Puppy is a well known cracker/hacker. Not necessarily a black hat, but I would put him in a "various shades of gray" hat. It seems that he feels more comfortable going by that name. Just like rappers go by their nicknames, someone like RFP likes to go by his handle. That does not make him a bad person, just someone with a goofy name.:)
I believe he/she was referring to the comment in the notes that said "Never A: or D:", which lead him/her (and myself) to think he was referring to the floppy and the CD-ROM drive.
Actually, I find quite the opposite.
At work, I have a 17 inch CRT that is quite possibly the worlds worst monitor. I like to run at high resolutions and this thing can barely support 1240 x 768. In contrast, at home I run my Dell Inspiron at 1600 x 1200 and love it. The text is clear, and the contrast I find to be quite good. Also, I find reading text and working on LCDs is far better than working on a CRT. I can't quite pin down what is better about them, but if I had to guess I would probably say that I find the LCD display 'crisper'.
You are not the only person I found with the opinion that CRTs are better, and frankly I find that I'm in the minority. Most people that have them, when asked why the bought them, say that they look cooler and save space. Nobody has any real reason (besides aesthetics) for having them.
To sum it up, I guess I like my LCD better because it seems to "paint" the picture on the screen, while the CRT seems to be trying to burn the image into my retinas.

That is the funnies thing i've read in a long time!!! Thanks.
Would you mind telling me what the object was that you put on that page that makes IE crash? Just satisfying a curiosity.

I believe you.:) I was just stating my opinion on it. It was probably very hard to find anything that would have sounded halfway decent, considering anything worth its weight would probably been removed by either the record companies or the hosting companies.

I have to say, that version of Toccata was...ummmm...not good. Quite lifeless and flat, and alot of the impact points were cut short.

I misread the label at CompUSA, and when checking the link I saw Intel 400 Mhz CPU. I'm sorry for being wrong, but since when does being wrong make me a "Flaming Troll"?
"Pocket PC devices run on StrongARM processors, not Pentiums. Intel makes licensed StrongARM processors, hence the "Intel" running your iPaq."
I stand corrected. While at CompUSA I swear I saw Intel Pentium III but I could be wrong. When I was there I bought the new Sony Clie instead of the iPaq and I couldn't be happier.

The worst part is that is an ACCESS QUERY!!!!

Who wants to write (or can even remember!) 10-digit codes like that?
:)
You mean like a phone number?

What is that file that is displayed in your .sig?

Am I the only person who can't read the name John Jacob without starting to sing that damn song? Now its stuck in my head...
Singing: John Jacob Jingle Heimer Schmidt!! La la la la la la....
My god...no movie has ever come close to the affect that movie has on me. I don't think I will ever, EVER be able to watch that again.
That is actually one of the BEST games to ever be developed. I remember wasting hours upon hours playing it. By far worth the investment of Windows. :)

So true...so true.

As a friend of mine once said "Helicopters don't fly. They beat themselves into submission." Since I heard that, I don't really want to ride in one.

Just my 2 cents.

AFAIK the Ipaq runs on a Pentium III 400, with 64 megs of RAM.
My friend put it best when he said "I have Web servers with less power than that!"
Here is a link to an iPaq on Compaq's site
