What would the long term effects (say in a few hundred years or so) of transferring mass from the Moon to the Earth? At least we could rid of those confusing tide charts.
Until the browsers get their acts together and stick to the standard, commercial web sites have no choice but to compensate for varying implimentations of CSS/JavaScript/HTML standards.
Sure M$ is probably goofing around here, but they have no choice but to do things this way unless you want a very drab looking site.

The problem is, without any moral cost of war, what's to stop it? We can go to war without stopping or thinking.
Americans tend to have a very egocentrist view of the world. "It's 'over there' and doesn't really affect me. Oooh Bon Bons are on sale!"
The non-american death toll and environmental devestation is just as profound with smart weapons. We just don't see it as much since our last few engagements have been in deserts.
Don't fool yourself into thinking this is somehow 'better.' War is destructive, costly, and sadly necessary. As sick as it sounds, reinstating assination is a much better solution to daisycutters and drone probes. The vast majority of soldiers don't want to fight. And the primary trouble-makers are some crazed/greedy/narcisistic dork trying to be the big bully on the block. Eliminate them, problem solved.
Think about it. If I want to hear Twisted Wet Noodle's lastest single "Geriatric Cheerleader" and I can't play it on over half the devices in my house, guess where I'm gonna turn?
MP3's are becoming the only way to play on all forms of players (including DVDs).
Do all companies have this kind of disrespect for their customers? I really hope not.
I'm a little nervous and a lot excited about this.
I don't think it's any coincidence that the new rules will be rolling out just around the same time as the movie.

The states aren't much better. I seem to have better luck with paper ads (where companies themselves advertise).
Monster Board used to be good. I found my last two jobs there but I've hit a brick wall for the last 3 months. I get what I call "Database Fillers." Agencies that employ their agents to fill a database with interviews. They don't care if the job gets filled, just that they meet their quota.
I'm sure to get spammed here, but these jerks are really getting on my nerves. If any IT managers are reading, heed this call:
Do not hire from agencies! They are sloppily run, and care nothing for your company and certainly not for the people they interview. Only you can stop this scam and get yourselves the best techs possible.
This concludes my rant. We now return you to your regularly scheduled surfing.
The summary leaves out a critical part of the article. The tax would be voluntary. So I agree, the submission is Flamebait, plain and simple.
Ask any Talisman fan (essentially anyone who's played it) what they think of Games Workshop and be prepared for some "colorful metaphors."
Not only has the product been discontinued, they refuse to let anyone else acquire it to keep it going.
Yeah, I get all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it too.
Don't you mean: 2 hours of someone sneaking round an empty warehouse looking for a key?
I saw "Cookies" and thought only of little text files a browser keeps.
Oh lord I need to unplug. Badly.
...it infects.
If you have an old copy of Total Annihilation, you can get a fantastic Star Wars RTS with the SW Conversion pack.
Is it just me, or are the AOL servers crushed under the load. Dear lord. We've slashdotted AOL!!!
I thought that was the discarded title for "Primary Colors."
Bring back Jeri Ryan. Walking plot-elements rock, occasionally.
Actually, they bounce. Mmmmm bouncy...
Indeed, we shouldn't have any time on their hands to play Doom 3, what with us all being Romero's bitch and all.
It may not be the main crime he's guilty of, but at least it gets him off the streets (or 'Net).
Good riddance.
But it's just as exciting.
Someone forgot to put a URL...
americasarmy.com
Sitepoint (the publisher) has them here. The downside is you have to give them your email address first.
Sarcasm is so lost on the 'Net.

Absolutely. Four words come to mind: "War of the Worlds." That sent people into a complete panic, and that was just simple radio drama.

Won't this just increase piracy?

Taking a page from South Park:
"Blame Canada!"
Agreed, it isn't easy, but it is possible. Text-only versions of sites are must, not only for the visually impaired, but also for slower connections.
The more people you can appeal to, the more people will be interested in your product, plain and simple.
That kind of a page can get a good Bobby rating.
