I absolutely abhor the GE "true white" lights. White light is not a natural color in the sphere of human experience, as we live under a yellow sun. I installed one of these lights in the hallway of my apartment. They have a really nasty side effect of making the rest of a dwelling appear to have a yellow tinge, although the yellow tinge is simply what we're used to.
"I actually like the idea of a game dominated by a ticking countdown."
In that same vein, the ticking countdown levels are the exact reason I stopped playing GTAIII 3 years ago and never looked back. I have about 20 deadlines in my real life, where my livlihood actually depends upon it. I'll be damned if I'm going to take that kind of stress from a video game that I paid for.
New Super Mario Bros. is great. I like to think of it as a "Super Mario Brothers 4" done in the style of SMB and SMB3, but with much better graphics and lots of fun new features. I haven't touched a platformer in years since this game. I also have lots of fun with Worms for the DS...nothing like a Scorched Earth-ish artillery game before bedtime to get rid of stress. I would kill for a wifi-enabled version since I don't have any friends with a DS.
I think having Pluto crash into Trenton was going to be Gov. Corzine's last-ditch attempt to get the state legislature to approve of a 7% sales tax...in case that whole casino and goverment shut-down incident in July didn't pan out.

I'm wondering about the issue of Windows XP working on a 64-bit processor. Would you need to get 64-bit XP or would the regular one run just fine? I'm talking about a machine that would be used in a professional environment among otherwise standardized Dell desktops--so it would have to "just work".
A word of caution on using an XP disc that is slipstreamed to SP2...this is what I initially did with my old Dell XP (pre SP) disc...not a "recovery" disc, but an actual XP installation disc that Dell provided. I used Nlite to create an SP2 slipstreamed disc to install Windows XP on my Mac. The installation would only go so far on the Mac and then freeze up, even after updating various components based upon numerous message boards. It's possible that the problem arose since Dell may have rearranged some files, but I have no way to verify this. Since this was for work and had to work, period, I ended up shelling out for a new retail copy of XP with SP2 already built-in. My $0.02.
Well, the enhanced keyboard support will seal the deal for one of my co-workers who has been asking me about my experiences with XP on my Macbook Pro and about the computer in general. That will be three sales under my belt!
I forget where I read it, but McDonalds is working on automating a lot of a restaurant's operations, most importantly the manufacture of their menu items.
I should have mentioned that I would also need some friends, too :)

Isn't that the "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago" game in a nutshell?

Apparently, but your only weakness will be equestrian events. Oh, and I'll take a window seat, thanks.

That's no moon!
Cross out the $300 fee in the sale agreement, initial it and have the car dealer initial it. If he doesn't, then why not just walk away?
I, too, found this book to be shallow and pedantic.
Depends upon the drugs:

Can anyone comment on XP still working fine on the upcoming 64-bit Intel (Merom?) chips that Apple is due to put in their Macbook Pros soon?

I can already here Bill Gates saying "Let's 'buy them out' boys!!!!"
I'm pretty sure he uses voice commands...ever read Genesis? "Let there be light!" =)
About 100 years ago, your doctor could have also given you some Bayer Heroin(tm).
My two dogs are without C.A. Jones and are still at it now and then.
Your dog doesn't want as much steak.
Does that include all harmful drugs, including alcohol and aspirin?

Impossible...the weight of the shark and the water tank required to sustain is far more than 100kg.
