    I'm waiting for a REAL guitar game - where the controller actually works like a real guitar. I could see this happening 2 ways :

    1. the controller has strings (ie 6 short strings down in the strumming part) and frets (ie buttons) where the strings would be on the neck.

    2. use a guitar that has a MIDI output and write the game that takes the MIDI input as your game controller input.

    Carbon dioxide doesn't worry me as much (well it's a greenhouse gas, I guess) as the carbon monoxide. How much is getting generated? I guess if it burns very hot then mostly it will be CO2 not CO, though, hopefully. On the other hand if it's very hot you have a heat dissipation problem.

    It might seem like a good thing, except that the American health care system is notoriously inefficient compared to other industrialize countries. So the US has to hire more workers for its inefficient health care system which turns out to be worse according to the metrics of infant mortality and life expectancy, than these other, less labor-intensive systems in other industrialized countries.

    Just got a new Macbook. I tried to install X11 from the tiger DVDs, but all it did was populate /usr/X11R6/lib, man, and include. No bin directory whatsoever. Yes, I can install XFree86 from source, but I shouldn't have to. What was the point of having an installer for libraries and headers if I can't actually run any X clients??

    Not to disagree with your main point, but extreme poverty exists in the countryside of China too, which is why China's coastal cities are swelling with people seeking jobs to escape that poverty.

    Choice IS a wonderful thing, if there IS a choice. The past decades since the Interstate System started have been oriented to the option you have chosen (flee the city to the suburbs). In the future, I hope we will have a more balanced approach to planning and government transportation spending that will give those of us who choose the city option a real choice.
