Same type of situtation here in Grand Rapids, MI.
They claim the network is (or was seeing we don't have access restored yet.) DHCP, but my IP address has yet to change since we got the modem.
It does mean that I can make backup copies or copies in an alternative form of something I bought. I still have compter games where step one of the installation procedure is to COPY the installation disks!
You mean the Inspiron 8100. those a nice little laptops. My Dad got one with Win2k and my Sister got one with WinME.
It is better than our previous laptop with the little plug in network card where we had to tape the ethernet line straight up in t on the 8100 opens out the side instead of to the front which is nice.
My friend took a swig of Ethanol (eythal alcohol) by accident one day in chemistry class. It is not the same a drinking alcohol just because alcohol is in the nae.
Yeah, definetly a case of senioritis. It is my senior year in High School right now and I have a major case of it. I don't do any homework whatsoever. (Yet I still manage As and Bs in all my classes).
My solution is get a bunch of friends together and get a bunch of beer and go camping for a week! (Or what you think is a week once your are drunk)
You might also take a look at the US Constitution. Show me the _EXACT_ wording that gives a right to send or receive email. It ain't there. Nobody has a right to send me email and have it received. No sensible ISP will make any guarantee that email will go through.
1st Amendment. Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press.
It would fall under the same rules that allow telemarkets to call you and allow spammers to send snail mail.
Of course I would prefer to palce email spam under jurisdiction of the junk fax law!
My Dad's office has a similar idea. They used old versions of the IE/Outlook software that don't runn.vbs stuff on their own. It seems to be a good solution for them.
Couldn't the DMCA be turned against them in some way on this?
Let say I encrypt my MP3s. Then if they delete them would that be circumvention of my encryption scheme?
Or is the encoding of the MP3 itself considered encryption?

Bravo!!!
The technician that hooked our cable modem commented on our Netgear router (wired).
What if a PC is hooked up to the cable modem. Then a router is hooked, via a second network card, into the PC?

Hmmm, the book 1984 comes to mind. Now what was the main character's job again?

Why don't the just make sure that the USER_AGENT strings read exaclty what IE's reads. They seem to just be blocking specific other browsers.
Beatifully said Fish!!
Our country is becoming more and more like what our Founding Fathers where fighting against!
That is expected of course!

I would send people to Mars.
This really needs to be the next goal.

I am betting a large memorial to the sailors of the kursk. And all the bodies will be buried together near it.
