the article said "playing action games improves visual skills." it said nothing about enhancing reasoning skills... if you cant drive: dont.. and dont play with knives no more
you certainly make a valid pont, but then theres my brother in law who can barely track his own player on the screen, but lord help him, he keeps trying
"young adults who played action games such as Grand Theft Auto [...] regularly could track up to five objects at a time"
not only that, but these young adults were also 22% more successful at car jacking, 46% had better aim with lethal weapons, and 27% could on average outrun law enforcement officers.

i'd have to say one of the things i hate the most about VB is the huge runtimes. oh how much would i pay for the front end of VB that compiled to a stand alone exe comparable to asm coded executables.
"The system automatically recognizes future e-mails from the same sender, so the verification needs only to be performed once."
and how long do you thik it will take for spammers to then obtain "pre verified" email addresses? they may even use yours... so not only will it make life difficult for the regular joe.
my idea has always been completely server side.. you send an email, my pop server will challenge your smtp server to be sure that you have an acount on it, that the acount is valid, and that the ip you're using is on their network..
the idea goes a bit deeper than that, but im at work right now and dont have the time to go too deep into it right now.
"Basicly what it sounds like is, people are cooking their CPU's from either/or...and AMD is tired of floating the loss because of idiots."
you would think a more customer friendly way to cut down on replacing oc'd cpu's would be one bit in the cpu that would set and stay on if the bus were ever pushed passed its "sold as" speed, and if anyone had a defective chip that had the bit set to on, could then be told to take a walk
i have to disagree you MUST know the scene, how the internet works. even if there was a catalogue online of any song you want at a low bitrate and pay option, im sure some people would buy a few songs, but i think the majority would find a free way to get what they want.
i mean, alot of software developers offer the option to buy their software online and download it right the, but its still pirated all over the net. the same would happen to music and movies. a few people would buy the music, but most would still pirate them, its a known constant.
I have to aggree with the parent on this one, in the last 2 years i bought a 17" flat samsung (syncmaster 753df), which was beautiful, never gave me a problem. Then i decided i wanted 19" so i went out and did price comparasions for resolutions and refresh rates versus price and ended up getting a KDS XFlat, and gave my samsung to my girlfriend.
Sufice to say i regret that decision. for no known reason, the colors went all jiggy, half the time i get to enjoy my games with no red channel, or sometimes no green channel. I tracked it down to the cable, and KDS wanted ~$50 to ship me a new cable (sorry im not rich, rent and bills have to come first) so i bite the bullet and put up with it, but never again will i buy kds. the next monitor i buy will be a samsung no matter how much cheaper any other brand, including KDS, is.
and make sure the place you buy it from will service the monitor. dont get stuck like i did, with the choice of either putting up with the colors jigging out, or boxing it up, sending it off, and having no monitor for weeks or months.
now you mention VPN, which got me thing to recent events.. now correct me if im wrong, but dont these windows security keys use encryption? doesnt that make them terrorism?

"The hardware upgrade cycle for a Mac is 4-6 years (twice as long as for a Pc, don't ask me why)"
maybe cause they're so horridly expensive.. i remember when i could have gotten a PC for 1,999 and the comparable mac was 3,500+ (CAN prices) if PC prices were that high, people wouldnt be able to afford to upgrade quite so often
then theres the issue of software, why upgrade such an expensive machine just to have a better OS/browser experience.. no, people upgrade for the latest wicked kick arse games... there just isnt much of that kind of motivation in the mac world...
"Recoil mitigation? On a Laser weapon? I don't get it, where does the recoil come from."
you see, its really just a sub machine gun with a laser pointer mounted on the barrel and added sound effects to scare the enemy into thinking that they're being attacked by a far superior force
"And, you gave him access to the net, Visual Basic development tools"
hehehe, im sorry, thats just funny... h4x0rz wreaking havoc with winsock.ocx
its a crazy idea, but why dont they optimize their drivers to run games and the like? or is that just not realistic?
"Companies will face an $11,000 fine for each telemarketing call that violates the FTC's new consumer-protection provisions."
now i wonder if theres any way to extend that to inlaws and ex-girlfriends?
there it is! i see it! ..oh.. where'd it go?
Thwap!

but if they cut the hard lines, we'll be trapped!
hehe lame i guess but i have to say it
1) make people steal our songs
2) ?
3) Profit!

so a shared speed of 70mbits divided by a hypothetical 1 million users offers you a whopping 70bits a second..
WOW
that should read: "now you mention VPN, which got me to thinking of recent events.. "

where is the "free" option?
1) Standard Service -- $9.95/year
2) Expanded Service -- $24.95/year
you mean theres something else besides FPS??
theres always a nice 8x raid striping (sp?) to make up for that
oh no, its the grammar police!
got anything *constructive* to say? like pertaining to the actual subject at hand?
