I kind of was thinking of the corporate market when I mentioned the Xorg extensions. Think of Mac OSX. Used by corporate desktops (I'm./, sure somewhere somebody uses it for serious work). Much of the smoothflow of the desktop of supplemented with 3D acceleration.
My point is that 3D graphics are not limited to games and are becoming more mainstream requirement, like 24-bit colour as opposed to 8-bit.
how many corporate desktops use 14" 8-bit screens?
No 3D? In that case this card is going to be completely useless for most users.
With just about every decent game and the new Xorg extensions both requiring accelerated openGL, and the fact that most motherboards have some kind of video controller on board, these cards will only be of interest to a very very small group.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they shouldn't go ahead and make this card, I'm just saying they'd better not expect anyone to actually buy them. It might be a good starting point for a 3D card down the track.
As another poster pointed out, our efforts might be better spent lobbying nvidia to open their APIs. After all, their hardware can be as secret as it wants, but the interface should be freely documented.
My little SL-5600 (which pretty much fixes everything that was wrong with the 5500) is the best PDA I've ever come across. The thumb keyboard is excellent if you don't have fat thumbs, and of course it makes a great portable ogg player.
After adding mplayer, cron and a plucker reader it's tough to beat.
And I can't believe he didn't mention the changes to the musical score.
In some of the most dramatic moments (such as the Death Star run), the music is ramped down so it's barely audiable, in favour of the sound effects. This is due to the sound effect guy doing the final mix.
Also, all the music in ANH has the rear channels swapped. It's fine in ESB and ROTJ, but it's definitely wrong in ANH. Not a problem unless you're listening to it on your 5/7.1 system with some sense of where the instruments are on the sound stage. Then it just gives you a headache. There's no point in just swapping your rear channels over, since then all your sound effects are the wrong way round.
The worst thing is that although the channels are clearly wrong, Lucasfilm have stated this is a "deliberate creative decision".
Interesting to note that one place in the human body with a high temperture differential is the forehead. For those of us that have hair, the forehead is a major vent for the braincase, after all.
Thermal gradients are a valid source of power for many devices, and considerable research has been done on ID chips that can do just that. A rice-grain sized chip might still be a bit big for insertion into a forehead, but give it a few years.
Hard to say: you'd have to wait 'til the little tyke grows up and see how he turns out.
I tend to believe that a persons worth as a human being is not measured by what they can achieve or contribute.
But premeditated murder is what it is. The mere belief that one is doing the "right" thing simply is not an excuse for taking a life. I believe that murdering doctors is wrong.
I couldn't have put it better myself. Which is why I believe murdering unborn children is wrong. Just as wrong as murdering a doctor, lawyer, or janitor.
Anti-abortion groups on the other hand have a long history of stalking the doctors who perform abortions, which very often leads to physical violence. Many abortion doctors have been murdered for doing their jobs.
Which is very hypocritical of them, considering that the doctors life is worth exactly as much as the children the activists are trying to save.
... in the US?
What do you need to be researching? Who do you need to be affiliated with?
Do people like RMS count?
...rubbing his hands whilst sitting in a dark corner amongst an ever-dwindling pile of Microsoft-donated cash, salivating at this.
"512 processors, 20 machines, $699 per processor. All that intellectual property, yes! No free lunch no, Linux mine, MIIIINE, BWAAAAHAHAHAHA!!!"
*dials*
"Hello, NASA? About that $7,157,760 you owe me...
I'm sorry, where do you want me to jump?"
A judge with his head screwed on right?
What's next?
Dogs and cats living together?
North America having more than two presidential candidates?
Duke Nuken Forever going gold? And GPL'd?
So... this is the third update to woody.
But it's not really a new distro - don't throw away your 3.0 CDs.
But people who have been regularly updating their stable machines will already have most of the stuff, and only need to download a couple of things.
So what exactly has been released?
How is downloading this new release any different from apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade?

... and how exactly are Adam and Eve or Noah's Ark falsifiable or contradictory in any way to modern science?
So ditch the dolby encoder and go for DTS instead.
It sounds better, anyway and pretty much anything that decodes Dolby Digital can do DTS.
And rightly so.
Reflections in those windows would add nothing to the composition, except to distort the pretty backgrounds and further clutter the shot.

Am I the only one who thinks associating these two is just wrong?

... surely we can just cut their net cables?
No net access, low hacking risk.

The Mark just may be closer than you think.
I just modded you 'insightful' in another forum.
Not for your message content, but for your sig.
You misspelled "Hunny"
R-Click on what, exactly?
Everywhere in the document the last context menu item is "Paste".
... but at least we can get through the day by relating to these folks.
Anyway, I think we just sent their site into hibernation...

The stimulating effect of Guarana comes from the fact that it's loaded with caffeine.
A guarana+caffeine beverage is really just caffeine+caffeine but, being a buzzword, guarana sounds cooler.
Dude,
What did you expect, from a land flowing with milk and honey?
Say MIDICHLORIANS again, I double dare you!
WTF is the FAA?
