The problem isn't that there are no firms capable of producing the CD's.

But Mandrake had intended, originally, to produce them overseas and ship them to the US.

Apparently a capacity issue at their overseas facility is what prompted them to move US production into the US, rather than wait for their overseas facility to begin turning out the CDs.

Stenography is nothing of the sort!

Stenography is shorthand. It's a method of quickly writing information down in an abbreviated form that's still fully comprehensible later.

Part of the problem with not recognizing stenography anymore is the fact that it's no longer really taught in schools. With the advent of compact tape recorders and dictaphones, the need for steno skills pretty much evaporated.

  22. Was the movie stupid? on Review: Tomb Raider · · Score: 1

Of course! It's a teenage hormone-tweaking movie. You can't tell me you were actually expecting some truly good plot and decent character development. Not when all that most people have seen of Lara so far are T&A and some gunplay (not necessarily in that order).

But, believe it or not, Roger Ebert LIKED the movie. Now THAT floored me.

Was he impressed by the plot? Not really.

Did he like the depth of the characters? Not even close.

It's what he called a "popcorn movie".

Basically it's a movie that gives you non-stop action almost from start to finish. And you're so busy watching the screen to see what pops up next that you don't really have time to care wether or not the plot is swiss cheese, or that the character development is more shallow than the cracks in a sidewalk.

If you went to see Tomb Raider for anything other than the T&A and the action, you went for the wrong reasons.
