    because God help you if your batteries go dead at 3000 feet. Personally I'd rather be in a conventional aircraft. That way (assuming there's more than one engine) a malfunction doesnt automatically mean I'm going to crater

    Usually the benefactor pays a legal firm with a cashier's check and the legal firm pays the university.

    Cashier's check for a million bucks? Uhh...somehow i dont think you can buy those at the local supermarket

    They made a pretty good point, though perhaps inadvertantly. What happens if/when you lose the bloody thing? And yes, people WILL lose a 300$ PDA and probaby lose it regularly. I'd rather have four remotes each having some overlapping functionality, kinda like RAID with striping

    Scenario 2: The next killer game is Linux only. What would happen if say... Doom 3, or something similar, was Linux only?

    You must be using some pretty off-brand hardware. I installed XP and (thought i did go back and install mfr. drivers later) every last device was detected right from the get-go

    Well if you have to email your papers in then I'd say it's fairly easy to tell when word mangles the formatting or won't open it at all

    As several people with experience on tanks have noted, a battle tank's armor by and large can shrug off RPGs. The main use for this technology is with lighter vehicles such as APCs and Bradleys, which most definitely can NOT take an RPG hit and keep moving

    For the record, Blind Guardian and Metallica are my two favorite groups, and IMHO enough different in style that I don't bother comparing.

    I got Nightfall in Middle Earth because i knew it was based on Tolkien's works, then went out and read the Silmarillion so I'd know WTF the songs were about =p

    from the article I submitted on the precise same thing, it is said that you can only type a max of 25 wpm. That's great for PDAs or something I suppose, but how can they claim greater effenciency when it's slower than doing it the old fashioned way?

    Calc isn't offered at a highschool level where i attended. frankly i dont think we had any teachers prepared to teach it, and even fewer students smart enough.

    That works out great if you can do the maths. I outstripped my parents' experience somewhere around my freshman year. Sure they could have gotten the home-school books and taught it to me that way, but i'd honestly rather learn it from someone who knows it.
