Well I happen to use Windows 2000 (to play games mostly) and I can tell you fo a fact that when you install ANY device driver it requires a reboot. I hooked up an external modem and I had to reboot. I hooked up a USB game pad... had to reboot.
So please explain to me what you mean by hotloading a device driver. Do you mean that you don't have to completely turn the machine off, only reboot? Or maybe you mean it has the capability but it just isn't used? Either way it just doesn't compare with linux where you only need to reboot when you change kernels.
I think Spielburg would like it because when he has a kid he made a lot of war movies. I'm not sure if he remade any movies himself, but it is quite possible.
Whats that saying about copying being the highest form of flattery?

THis is so true. Ever try to run either KDE or Gnome with a 800x600 resolution? Quite a few of the dialogs are bigger than the screen at that size. Obviously the developers have much bigger screens than us mere mortals. I know that everything looks great on my 19" screen at home, but on the 14" screen at work it can be impossible to use. Kinda sucks because I'd like to set up a computer lab that runs linux on some older boxes, but its just gonna give me headaches if this resolution eliteness continues.
2.4.15 I believe. Released on thanksgiving day so it was called "Greased Turkey". I remember reading about it on a machine that was using it. There was a way to unmount the drives without them being corrupted, luckily, so I was able to reboot into a different kernel. But it was pretty dicey.
Maybe you don't remember when they brought in the GST, they discussed this. The problem with including the tax in the price is that all the stores would have to change the prices on ALL of their inventory overnight. It just wasn't feasible. The government decide to let the retailers decide what to do.
I think Woolco was the only major one to decide to show both prices. So the tag would show "$17.67 ($14.45 before tax)". Which was what I thought was the most honest approach. But they aren't around anymore... I think they got taken over by WalMart.

You arrest some idiot at the beginning of your shift and then three hours later its deleted. Later the idiot cries "police brutality" and you only have a recording of your coffe break. See the problem?
My Diablo II character was just deleted because I dared to have a life for 3 months (second time this has happened). Well, I guess I could always start over again.
It got deleted from my bookmarks and I forgot the URL. That link really helped me out.
Offtopic, but last week someone told me they didn't get google on their computer home (whihc had an internet connection. So maybe the URL isn't so obviuous after all...
Not sure if online dating is the be all and end all, although I'm sure google will be offering it. look at news.google.com and froogle.com. Google is definitely becoming more Yahoo-like. And now they're getting into blogging. The next move would be, like you imply, a sort of web of trust type system so you can discuss things with your peers, whoever or where ever they are. If done right (like they did their search engine), it could be really cool. Discussion (and dating too i guess) seems to be where the interent is going.
All good and decent law abiding consumers of course. We need to have rights managed by all the generous corporations that provide us with all the products that we enjoy. The only people that don't want their rights managed are criminals and hackers that steal music and movies over the internet. Law aabiding consumers have nothing to hide so don't care if the files they have on their computer are being monitored by a trustworthy company such as Microsoft. It's only really communist/terrorist/drugabusing agitators that care about "freedom" anyway. So ask yourself, do you want to be a good law abiding citizen and have your rights managed and prove that you are not breaking any laws and have nothing to hide? Or do you want to take the side of terrorism?

Whoa... I remember that too. I don't remember much else about it though
Did you know that it was originally supposed to be Indiana Smith starring Tom Seleck?

No it would not be appropriate to call them "$CO" since they will be bankrupt very soon.

When you look down, what you're seeing is how your feet looked 5.67 nanoseconds ago....
That song was ironic if you think about it. You have a song called "Ironic" that doesn't contain one example of irony. That in itself is irony...
The article was pretty boring up until the last 4 paragraphs

Please no. Why does everything have to be live action to be considered legit? The movie is great as it is. Leave it alone, please.
