In the town where this mayoral race took place it is very possible that the outcome would change. 8-9 people who told him personally that they would vote for him, himself and his wife... how many of those people had friends who might also vote for him? Why did the other two candidates still have a runoff?

Are you assuming that none of the other candidates votes were incorrectly tallied? Are you also assuming that none of Wooten's votes were incorrectly assigned to another candidate?

If Wooten truely had 9 supporters and the voting machines somehow misassigned all of those votes to another of the candidates this would force a runoff between the other two candidates even though they weren't even close (The official tally was 18 and 18).

"No, this incident is probably not an example of electronic voter fraud."
-- How do you mean this? The chances that a man thought he voted for himself but didn't are rather slim. Are you saying that incorrect results due to problems with the system (diebold) does not qualify as voter fraud?

The fact of the matter is the public is still too braindead to vote for anyone who is not a centrist, and coming out of the closet is a very non-centrist thing to do.

You should probably understand that the BMI is a scale, there are ranges of weight for specific height. While you are correct about the BMI not taking muscle into account directy, it does tend to reflect a vast majority of basketball players as healthy. At some point even having more muscle can be a problem for your body to handle. Muscle mass uses more of your body's cardiovascular capacity than fat does (although you wont see as much arterty clogging in a person who excercises regularly); Of course at some point the bones in your body can only take so much, muscles tend to support bone structures but I'm sure only to a certain degree.

The AC who responded about your weight fluctuations being from fat was likely correct. In two months you will lose cardiovascular and lung capacity, possibly even some fat, but you wont lose significant muscle power. I haven't exercised regularly in over a year (and I feel worse for it), but my weight lifting capacity is as high now as it was a year ago.

Why does the open source community have to be so mature/professional? Every corporate exec knows what goes on at colleges, but they still want to hire every dumb kid with a degree. You're not going to get any recognition for doing nothing, if you can excel in the field without going to jail then you're probably doing good enough.

I'm pretty sure that the "biggest distributor" when used in a general sense is the company that distributes more media than any one other company. Number of pieces or piece size may be an issue, but Apple is still really high up there either way. I took such a hard angle against Apple because opposed to what King_TJ originally said here, Apple is a very intrusive company when it comes to DRM distribution and enforcement. Back to DVDs, at least the DVD format is not centrally controlled; DVDs will be playable on their original media even if their distributor goes out of business, or shuts down a devision of their company. If Apple at any time decides to shut down their iTunes devision all the music and videos you "bought" are now useless.
