Is it black like the U2 phone? How much more black could it be?

Why do people spell it pr0n? Seriously, I don't get that.

  4. Re:No java 1.5 on Apple Offers Mac OS X 10.3.7 Update · · Score: 1

There is like another year to go if the wait for 1.4 was anything to go by. It's not exactly trivial to implement a JVM. Too bad Sun doesn't do it for Mac. :(

  5. Re:Apple is under no obligation to support ANYONE on New iPod Firmware Locks Out RealNetworks Music · · Score: 1

They could sell naked MP3s, but not from the big labels. I think that makes your point moot.

Yeah, it seemed like the great Mac programmers were totally left off here.

Yeah, big deal. There's no hope. Let's just use insecure ones and save ourselves the trouble. Hey, wanna buy something on my website?

  8. Re:What about rejects? on Consensus on Global Warming · · Score: 1
Perhaps global warming is caused by adult white male toenail clippings, but I'm pretty sure we have no reasonable way of finding that out right now.

Yeah, I think you're right. You should probably whip up a paper on the topic and submit it to a peer-reviewed journal. On second thought, don't do it. There might be some backlash. We trust you, it's probably true.

  9. Re:Could you display results in a USA Today graph? on Math Skills Survey Shows U.S. Lags Behind · · Score: 0, Troll
I'd be curious to see what this would look like if you excluded immigrants - I suspect the US would place a lot higher relative to highly homogenous societies like the ones at the top.

Wow, that was startlingly offensive and controversial for an offhand statement. Do you believe that the USA is the only country that has immigrants or something along those lines?

  10. Re:So, is this how Apple Marketing Works? on Rumored iPod Flash Leaked · · Score: 2, Insightful

You must be delusional. Slashdot's opinions (that is, the average opinion of a highly modded post) on the marketability of new tech toys is so out to lunch it't not even funny.

  11. Re:Canadian music... on Canadian iTunes Music Store Opens · · Score: 1

It's modded funny but the features artists/albums are different. Canadian artists are much more prominent on it. The Tragically Hip and Sarah McLachlan are all over the front page.

  12. Fantastic! on Canadian iTunes Music Store Opens · · Score: 2, Interesting
I've been waiting for this for ages. It's at the right price point too. Many CDs are $12.99 CDN here, meaning they were going to have to beat that to get my business. They appear to be $9.99.

Now I can buy some Wilco albums for only $9.99 when they are often $20 or $25 CDN in stores.

  13. Re:Open Source photo repository on Flickr Online Photo Service Reviewed · · Score: 1

Dude, you should make a web page describing all this, submit it to Slashdot, and watch the web server go down in flames.

  14. Re:There's a preventive vaccine already on HIV Vaccine · · Score: 2, Interesting

Huh? What about the lack of education? I seem to recall SA had high ranking officials publicly denying that HIV leads to AIDS. There is widespread misunderstanding (and misinformation).

  25. Re:Wilco on Wilco on P2P, Digital Music and the Internet · · Score: 1

I second that recommendation. YHF is one of the most unique, daring albums of the last few years. My friend thinks Wilco might be the next Radiohead - limited radio play but huge following.
