As a merchant I can say that you sir are a damnable idiot. You do realise being asked for your ID is protecting both us, and you from theft? I could be arsed as to what your Visa Merchant Agreement says. We're a private business and it's our right to verify you as the legitimate card owner. Why should we go through the hassle of dealing with payment collection on a sale that you later report as fraudulent? Screw if it's "convenient" for you. If a charge at my business was done on your stolen card you would be on the phone giving me the 5th degree im sure. And it happens. We have people claiming the card was stolen untill we 'remind' them we have thier signature, id verification, and video to back it all up. Incredible.
We simply refuse any transaction where the holder refuses ID. You really no idea the level of fraud associated with CC transactions.
Don't know the torque off-hand but my used 1999 Mustang GT Convertible ran me $17,000. 260hp 4.6l V8 stock, and after spending under $1000 on engine work is just over 300hp. So yea, screw the hummer.
Except there is nothing "artificial" about the shortages of 360 and PS3. Especially in Microsofts case, to beat Sony they need as many systems sold as fas as possible. So unless this "artificial" shortages were a conspiracy involving *everyone* from the chip makers down to the assembly workers, it just isn't true. They've been pumping out at full capacity.
And it's not forced on you. If you don't want HD-DVD movies you still get a next-gen console that as far as most developers are concerned, is on equal grounding with the PS3 as far as graphical ability. And unlike Sony who is promising downloadable content, and promising online play, the 360 is already delivering on both, and quite well.
OK, i'm sick of this "PS3 has Linux and you can code out of the box!1!"
It isn't true.
Yes, the PS3 "runs" linux.
Embedded Linux.
You will never 'see' it. You will see a nice shiny PSP style XMB menu. You will not be able to code a damn thing (legitimatly). Sony has never once said you would be able to. Stop spreading old shot down rumors.

carry on then. I assume your car is completly open as is your mothers basement? and the streets you walk on? Otherwise how do you know there isn't a bomb in there someplace?
Using free software is good and should be encouraged but don't not use somthing just because it doesn't fit into your commie world view.
Why should we decide for another country that they should have 'free speech'? For that matter, what makes you think the US has free speech?
"But, but I can say anything!!!"
Oh, really? Try reading classified information outloud.
"But, but that's classified!"
OK, how about reading aloud your homemade recipe for liquid explosives? Or reading the DeCSS code to a judge?
And how is that any different than what China is doing, really? Their limits may be more restrictive than ours, but we *do* have restrictions.
We have "free'er Speech" but there could be countries even more lax than we! What if some small European country put out a scathing report on how limiting American speech is?
We should not assume the American system is best and that we should force our political systems on others, that's how things like Iraq happen. These businesses are in other countries and we should not expect them to act differently than other companies on the region.
Ah, and let me guess, when Nintendo does it on the Wii it "totally different!"
The controller is fine on other 2D Xbox Live games, and I don't understand the developer support comment at all. Konami releasing the most popular Castlevania game as a download is somehow bad?
The 360's support in America is just dandy, and while in Japan it's shiat, who cares. I'm an American, this is an American console, with games targeted at Americans. I don't go around yelling at Japanese people for playing Hentai games.
And several people I know personally are quite excited to have this game available, and that's just my circle of friends, so in the big picture you are quite wrong, plent of people are happy for this.
You are aware that the moon's orbit is slowly going further out and eventually it will be flung out and lost? I'd wager the distance is minutly further out now than in the 60's.
The only one I know of is Gran Turismo 4, and it cheated. No really, as I understand it they took a 480p image and upscaled it using a LOT of tricks, and the resolution changes between menus and gameplay, which results in a very annoying res change flicker on my tv for about 3 seconds.
"This Sony product is cheap compared to this other Sony product!" is not a very valid point when Sony controls the pricing on both.
I rather imagine this is how it happened at Sony HQ (in the land of Mordor, on the slopes of Mount Doom...)
[SONY EXEC A] We may have a difficult time selling the PS3 at $600...
[SONY EXEC B] Hey! Iv'e got an idea! Lets just charge $1000 for our Blu-Ray player that no one will buy! By *comparison* the PS3 seems incredibly cheap!
[SONY EXEC A] Great idea! In fact, we don't even *need* to make the standalone player! We just announce it and a price and keep delaying it untill after the PS3 is out! It's whole point in life will just be to sit there and look expensive next to the PS3!
[SONY EXEC B] BRILLIANT! Lets go make some hats out of money and torture some kittens.

It is quite racist to assume based on name alone that someone might be a terrorist. Or have we forgotten Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, Theodore Kaczynski, or Eric Robert Rudolph?

Evolution makes no claims as to the origin of life. It merly theorises what has happened to that life once it did start.
Also, if you are going to whine about pricing, you may want to rethink arguing in favor of the PS3... ;-)

Any particular reason for #2?
If you are worried about flash ads just use adblock in firefox and you get the positive aspects
of flash such as youtube, without the negatives.
Beyond that if you refuse to use flash you can't really whine about inability to access content.

Rewritten for Mario 3 to show the stupidity:
A 2 decade old NES game is getting a port to the Wii.
A game that 100 million NES people can and have been playing for the past 2 decades.
A game that 100 million SNES people can and have been playing for the past ten years.
A game that anyone with a GBA can play.
A game that anyone with a NES emulator for your computer can play easily.
IS GETTING A Wii PORT!!!
How would this be different?
Ah, and let me guess, when Nintendo does it on the Wii it "totally different!"

also why should the government have *any* role or say in a *religous* ceremony.
