Wow--- some of the stuff I've seen
on
Intel's Big Chip

I read PC Magazine just because I've been subscribing to it for a decade or so. Anyway, recently they had an article (I forget which issue) in which they talked about the Itanium. There, they showed a demo of Maya 4 running on the Itanium.
All I can say is wow. This means power. I'm looking forward to some of outcomes of stuff done on this (super)chip.
Bob Smith is the vice president of CD sales at Unknown And Barely Surviving Record Company. When Napster hits, he's out of a job. His family has no food in their stomach. Rent is unpaid. His somewhat-luxurious lifestyle is diminished to living in the slums of some cheap neighborhood.
Okay, the above is an extreme example. But, the same thing can happen to TV now if it all goes free. Tons and tons of people spend money on advertising with TV, for example. I'm sure people will have patches/progs to avoid this advertising. And what about TV set sales? They'll plummet. Hey, who needs cable? You can just get stuff off the 'net.
Sure, some people will always want a TV for the big game, and for tradition. But think of all the jobs that this may destroy....
This is the kind of thing that would lead to great things, if people continued support for it.
Would anyone please post information, if they know, pertaining to how we can donate to this museum? I think that many of us would like it.
"The community don't seem to care really deeply about biodiversity because they are not facing it every day. But it's a big concern among naturalists, conservationists and scientists. There's a decimation of these species."
The above quote was from the actual article. Their community doesn't care, for whatever reasons. Maybe they don't understand, maybe they don't know, maybe they're just shallow. But I think some of us may care.
We can use our computer skills to volunteer for them, maybe. Save them some money on hiring a designer for their web presence, making their databases more efficient, etc. This is what we're here for. Show the world that "hackers" do more good than harm.
During the campaign of '00 scheduled debates, when Bush was preaching ridiculously incorrect numbers and Gore proved him wrong, Bush said the following:
"It appears that Gore has not only invented the internet but the Calculator as well."
That was a rather witty comeback. Being a president is about having a good sense of humor, eloquence, and people skills. The point I'm trying to make is that you shouldn't take everything too seriously, or whatever.
For anyone who isn't familiar with stephenson, he is the popular author of novels such as Cryptonomicon and Snow Crash.
Cryptonomicon is great for any "security"-minded or interested person. It's a great read. Snow Crash I liked, but it was a bit confusing in the beginning. Once again, recommended for the typical slashdot reader.
like most things in the news today, this is complete bullshit. Blaming the companies for this kid's problem is not the solution. It's his OWN damn fault. He has MAJOR problems. Seven hours or more is HIS risk. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.
Recently, there was a post on penny-arcade that addressed a certain story: a kid accidentally shot his brother while re-enacting a scene from time crisis 2. Not the games fault, more like "stupid parents raise stupid kids."
What kind of moron would keep his gun accessable to his kid?
Point: Our government is a democracy
Point: Our government funds NASA
Point: We deserve some of a say in what happens at NASA, in one way or another. They're using our hard-earned tax dollars.
IRC networks are something that, I assure, won't be shut down any time soon at all. looking for music? pr0n? TV episodes? turn to the warez networks, like EFNet (irc.prison.net, irc.arcti.ca to name a few) and DALnet (astro.ga.us.dal.net, sniper.tx.us.dal.net). Works well.
I think that the DVD features on the XBox are going to be pretty crappy, just because the dvd-playing feature was a bonus to entice people to buy. Yes, I may in fact use the DVD features on it if I get a VGA converter box for my monitor, and that's just because my parents won't allow a TV in my room, and I probably will get an XBox for christmas. O_O. Don't feel like shelling out $50 for a dvd-drive if I don't have room to put it in my comp.
I'm sorry that my post was not well written. What I meant to say was that Ashcroft is generalizing hackers as virus writers, and that entity of people is responsible for virii.
Well, once more I have to thank you guys at slashdot for the heads up.
On another note, I think that these viruses totally justify Ashcrofts view as labeling "hackers" as terrorists...the virus writers are really wreaking havoc.
Questions!
Sorry folks but...
#1: What does bow chika wow wow mean?:/
#2: What's wrong with the new theme song? I like it. What do you guys think?
I think we have a good season ahead of us, anyway.
Anyon know how much this will cost? Thanks...

I expect Quicksilver to be equally interesting
Oh well, looks like some basement hacker will find out about my secret stash of gay pr0n. Oh no! I'll never be able to show my face in public again.

I guess I shouldn't jack off with the controller anymore.
There goes my chance of seeing the adverse affects of alcohol in space. >,
This happened today at school. Annoyer: Java rocks! Me: Java is too slow. C++ is faster. Annoyer: Java rocks with JIT compiler! Me: You idiot.

Finally, we get our say. In the form of a survey.
Works for me.

Good alternative

And I thought my newest 60 mile per hour RC car was the coolest thing ever. Damnit, it's already obsolete like my 400mhz p2. Z;(bu
But isn't this scheme just going on in Australia? We need the UN to put its foot down.
What can one say but,

I've seen it go from 64$ to 14 cents a share. My two cents? Down the drain. ;p
