Letterboxing (.org if you are too lazy to google) is great fun, and I'd venture to say somewhat more challenging IMHO than Geocaching, since you aren't given exact coordinates. Rather, you get clues (look for the 10th tree, go west 100 paces, etc) which can be rather fun to figure out, and sometimes downright frustrating.

    Definitely a fun time.

Exactly why I don't use Opera... too bloated, but to each their own

Exactly why I don't use Firefox. It tried, really. But endlessly searching for extensions (and deleting the ones that sucked, lather, rinse, repeat) to give me the functionality I was used to was just too much hassle.

For example, Opera automatically tracks your browsing session so if your computer crashes (yes I run Windows) or you close Opera, it automatically restores your session when you restart Opera. Since I typically have about 10 browser tabs open at any time, this was a must have feature for me. I tried to get similar functionality from Firefox plugins. At the time (last year) I only found a few, and they either had lousy functionality or were extremely slow.

Maybe things have improved but I really don't care. Opera works for me and I see no compelling reason to switch, especially with a free reg code (not that the ads bothered me to begin with)

Before you know it, colleges will be revamping their CS programs and cranking out mainframe experts faster than Microsoft passes out MCSE certificates.

Q: Many gamers and non-gamers alike choose to communicate with the generally accepted practice of capitalizing the first character of each sentence. Does Microsoft restrict your usage of the Shift key, or is there some other reason?

A: Great question. The fact of the matter is that I'm typing this on the Microsoft "core" keyboard, which does not include a Shift key. Our market research indicates nearly 75% of our target market prefers to be lazy and not use a shift key. While our "premium" keyboard does offer this advanced technology, one was not available at the time of this interview.

Ok, so apparently they got a clue and changed their pricing at some point. I have a Directv Tivo myself and havent been in the market for a DVR for some time, but when I was, at the time Replay only offered the service bundled with the DVR, and the price was well over $600. That factor alone is what gave Tivo a decent headstart and much larger marketshare IMHO.

No doubt that the MPAA helped in Replay's demise, but pricing their units with the subscription fee built in was a stupid move and probably hurt them even more. Not many people were willing to shell out $600+ for a "digital VCR" (Yes, we all know what DVRs can do now, but back then it was just an expensive box for recording shows digitally, and most people were happy with they $89 Bestbuy VCR)

OTOH, Tivo priced out the service fee separately, and offered both a one time and monthly version. Consumers too stupid to see the value of the upfront fee could easily accept the small monthly fee.
