Sucker. I upgraded to 486 after the pentiums came out. Paid probably $500 for mobo, proc, and other stuff. I'm just now considering upgrading from K6-2/400 to a 1.6ghZ chip...
Good thinking. I'm done with barcoding my slaves, because as you pointed out, its just way too difficult to locate them at the airport. RFID, here we come. Maybe there is a way to permanently embed the RFID into the slaves?
Actually, I just remembered that my dog has an RFID in him, it was a service the humane society made us do. If he gets lost, most vets and other humane societys (supposedly) have the RFID readers, and can query a database with his serial number to know who to call if he is lost.
They are going after Verizon, who claimes to be rolling out a new walkie talkie service called "Push To Talk." From what I can tell, Nextel is a decent company, and probably is just doing this to yank on verizon's hot dog.
The pimply faced guy at the Verizon store told me they were ready to roll out a clone of nextel's walkie talkie feature, called, you can guess- "Push To Talk." He said it was due next month, so this is some great timing by Nextel. Itll be interesting to see if it holds water.
So if you are standing in the middle of a street, with a camera on you, and your pants accidentally fall down. You would prefer your friends be able to order a copy of the incident on VHS, instead of this accident only being seen by the people around you and a few persons watching the camera who are used to seeing embarrasing stuff on an hourly basis? You would prefer that ANYONE can watch your public actions, rather than a few trained security guards?
I'm all for an oversight board or something, but your line of thinking doesn't work. "Well, if THE GOVERNMENT gets to do it, EVERYONE should get to do it." It just doesn't work that way. Big brother is not some guy who gets paid $11 an hour to watch cameras.
I went to Comdex its last year in Chicago. Myself and my 2 best friends ditched school to go, had our parents call us in sick. I had to make a fake ID for myself because I was only 17 at the time, and you had to be 18... And they did actually check it. We had a blast, but from what I understand, it seems like Comdex went downhill after they moved out of Chicago.
Unfortunately, I never got a chance to try this, but Wolfenstien 3D had a mode that would allow you to hook up 2 other computers to your main one using a serial cable, and have the slave computers display "left" and "right". The idea was to position the computers so you could look left and right into them. I don't know anyone who ever tried this, but im very suprised that this never was an option in games after Wolfenstien.
IIRC, theres some sort of mechanism that will stop mail if it is relayed more than x times. Maybe someone can expand on that for ya. I'd look it up in the rfc, but i'm busy eating a hamburger.
I work at an airport, and we have this one employee who is constantly calling the police department for one thing or another. One day she called the police and told them that Saddam was in the airport, buying a plane ticket. They came up and of course, refused to do anything about it, because it wasn't Saddam, so she called the FBI. They had to come out and take a statement from her and the police department. 3 weeks later, did the same thing because she saw Osama. So, maybe they are all in Indiana...
I think you may have a case of road rage. Sorry about cutting you off last tuesday, I wasn't paying attention because I was talking to my mom on the phone, and didn't see that there was someone right in front of me. Thats why I slammed on the brakes.
Nah, I'm single, my lease runs out in less than a month. I am getting sick of the commute, so I'm looking at something around 38th and Kessler- much better drive than from Franklin. On the nice days, you'll probably see me out there pedaling, assuming we get the locker rooms at work.
You can be MUCH more eco-friendly by using alternatives to cars. Public transport, bicycles, walking - why are so many people fixated on lugging around a huge steel box with them whenever they go anywhere?
Public Transportation- Not Available, I live in a suburb of Indianapolis. Indianapolis has a decent PT system, but I haven't yet been in a position to take advantage of it. Given the types to ride the bus, I don't think I would even if I could.
Bicycle- I ride for pleasure, but cmon. I live 30 miles away from work, at 12 miles an hour, thats over 2 hours to get there, 2 hours to get back, and without reinventing the wheel, 90% of that on the highway.
Walking- At 2.5 miles an hour, I wouldn't be able to get home before I had to leave again.
I don't associate having a car with being wealthy, I am an hourly worker, definately not wealthy by far, but pretty much everyone with a job in america can afford some type of car. I don't lug around a steel box, I use it as a tool to make my life more efficient. Its called industrialization- a car is a tool that makes citizens more productive, just as a cotton gin was a tool that made farmers more productive.
I used to work at a new and used computer store where you could trade in your old games for credit towards new or used ones. The storefront itself, in Naperville/Aurora, IL, is a fantastic place to visit. There are so many games there that are fun, and will run on almost any hardware that you can spend hours in there. No, I don't work for them anymore, but yes, I am putting a plug in here for them.
For the longest time I had a 486, even when everyone else had a P2, so it was my only recourse for games and other software. Thier website is here.
You are naturally unable to fly, does that mean one should never take an airplane anywhere?
Adoption is a good thing, I was adopted myself, but thats a personal decision, adoption isn't for everyone. My dad had an accident, and his brain swelled, crushing a part of his brain responsible for regulating hormones, therefore rendering him unable to father children- does that mean he shouldn't have kids? You say that if nature doesn't want you to have kids, you should adopt a kid? Makes no sense...

This AC has a point, that would be a great protest if RFID use becomes widespread... Carry ~500 tags around with you.

Screw the license, you don't need it. What are they gonna do, pull you over and ask for your license and plane title?
Maybe he has monitors set up as side windows?

+1 Insightful!

Make the whole computer spin, and leave the cd stationary.
Well, I didn't believe you, so I tried it out. Here's the results:

For god's sake man, its a joke!
