Maybe because it's just a watch and wasn't designed to do this? I think the point of the research is to guide the development of better detection. Things always improve over time, right? From TFA:
“The study is an important first step in figuring out how can we use these technologies in a way that’s evidence based,”
and
“Atrial fibrillation is just the beginning, as this study opens the door to further research into wearable technologies and how they might be used to prevent disease before it strikes”.
As for right now, even getting notification "sometimes" is better than "never".
The problem is that no amount of education will change their minds. I know someone like this. NO matter what facts you present, they dismiss them as faked, lies, misinformation from "big pharma". They are exactly like flat-earthers. It's their religion.
In the meantime, while you are trying and failing to present real data, their kids go unvaccinated, putting them and everyone around them in danger.
So you're going to stop buying a current machine, which apparently meets your needs, based on a rumor about a future Mac which may or may not happen and may actually meet your needs - since you don't know what the specs of this imaginary machine might will be. Did I get that right?
I think you’re confusing an appraisal with an inspection (English, eh?). In the US, an appraisal is when a licensed professional determines the marketable value of a property. An inspection is when you or someone you hire comes out to see if there are mechanical or physical issues with the property.
In most states, inspections are not required by law. I am a realtor, and I have never heard of a lender requiring an inspection, but I don’t think there is anything preventing them from doing so.
Appraisals are required by lenders, and I think they always will be, regardless of this law change.
I think this is virtually impossible. How many 10's of thousands of private companies are there in the US that need better security? Like all of them? You have to get them all - many of the hacks are via contractors, not just the main IP holders.
Looking at the comments and arguments on this topic so far, it appears that a lot of people on this board would rather cut their dicks off than admit Apple is doing something right.
Society is improved when we applaud good things and reject bad things.
Yeah, I was wondering about that, too, then I started thinking about them maybe wanting to keep an immutable record of who did what, who was told to do what, where each “car” went and why, etc. Maybe for that?
I have a series 2 and it easily goes 2 days between charges. I've also found that if I put it on the charger daily while showering, shaving, etc., it will get to 80% easily, which is about 2 days' charge for me. I haven't had battery issues at all.
They're not only creating election turmoil, they're amplifying and exploiting the issues we have in this country. I believe they are partly to blame for all the left-right anger and hate.
I’m sorry, but China’s contribution to your phone is almost entirely limited to cheap labor. I don’t follow Samsung, but I know that in Apple’s case everything about the phone is designed by Apple, right down to the manufacturing processes and machines. Apple will even buy the machinery for the factory.
You know they don't actually have a trillion dollars, right? That $1T is the value of all of the stock owned by all of the people and mutual funds around the world, not cash in Apple's bank account.
Minor point: the head tax would have been deductible as well.
Mod parent up, please. Intelligent, informative post.
The people in this study volunteered. If you're not in a study, the data never leaves your watch and phone.

You’re being sarcastic, but his is how Apple felt when Samsung produced an iPhone clone.

In the case of "our elites", it was Bill Clinton that signed the Most Favored Nation pact with China. It's that pact that gave them everything.

I don’t think the FBI or any other agency can legally force a corporation to lie. IANAL, but I have seen that stated in the past.

But there is no direct evidence linking China's actions with the trade dispute.

Innovation by China? Not so much.
You actually have no clue as to why these systems weren't upgraded. You just assume it was the bean counters.

Remember that the phones will still include a set of Lightning ear buds.
Mom? Is that you?
Yeah... um, right... this is intuitively obvious to the casual observer...
According to TFA, there was an "missing digital key in the firmware" which prevented it from working properly.
Why would we think this is only happening to kids? The adults are the ones with the money...
