None of your comments have anything to do with the problem that Microsoft found. The folks in Redmond have put a lot of work into Windows 10 security while trying to retain the current partner ecosystem and backwards compatibility.
This is the big change in local applications over the last 10 years. Web deployed Javascript based SPAs are essentially fat apps and appear to be the future for everything not-mobile.
Not really sure why the JVM is a problem. I it is fast and has been used to host a variety of other languages. The C# CLR is very similoar.
Oracle is the problem with Java and the JVM.
The federal employees have known when sites were going to expire for several years. They could have renewed a month before shutdown and this wouldn't have happened.

I have a couple of the Kinesis Advantage keyboards. The PC attached ones have a T650 center mounted above the thumb keys. The Mac attached ones have a T651 or Magic Trackpad on them. This means no reaching + ambidextrous navigation.
And as the court order specifies, the files can still legally be "emailed, mailed, securely transmitted or otherwise published within the United States."

PPC had no future at that time. Apple did that dual processor binaries for a while keep the PPC alive. It was a move the protected the customer for some period of time
Apple sold 18 million watches in 2017. There are a lot of companies that would like that type of "flop".
I stopped wearing a watch until I got my Series 2. It is a great fitness monitor, texting device and remote volume control for my music. Custom watch faces are fun though rarely changed. I like the map navigation app when I remember to use it while walking to a new place.
Similar problem in NYC. The problem isn't too much gun control in Chicago/NYC, it is total lack of gun control in neighboring jurisdictions.
Why aren't the neighboring jurisdictions awash in bloodshed then? They have possibly significantly higher availability. There is obviously some other primary driver for the violence.
We have empirical evidence that advertising and media drives behavior. That is why we ban cigarette adverts and run anti-smoking and anti-drug campaigns. We also know that movies and TV drive social trends, fashion and interest in various locations, behaviors, animals, etc...

Trackpad, keyboard, low reflection display, ports, magsafe. MacBooks used to be top or have good options for these areas.
