    When I studied in Sweden, there was a 45 min lecture, followed by 15 min break.
    Then back at it again.
    This was done in the 1980s when a study showed that students lost focus after roughly 45-1 hour.
    Not surprising that it also applies to work...

    I missed Terry Pratchett, and came across this collaboration with Stephen Baxter.
    It was taking a new approach to Sci Fi, but I started with the Long Mars by mistake and I think it got even better

    Force tax-cheating companies to cut their "but it is leeeegal"-bullshit and compete on equal terms as local companies.
    Longterm, make EU close the loopholes that only profits big companies.
    Any company that don't pay tax will of course be more successful than a company that has to pay tax.

    There needs to be a smartphone OS that works for you,
    and does not send your location and your data to whoever is paying for it.
    And strict clear laws for how data collection can be done and used.
    Yes, the data is there, regardless what you do,
    even with a dumb-phone your operator will know which tower you are connected to.

    Agree. You learned the basics, and you learned to learn things quickly, because the world moves quickly.
    But you will always be happy to have the base.
    Example; notice that nested for loops (almost) always uses i, j, k
    It is because i to n where implicit integers in Fortran
    Everything is new and everything is old.

    I am having unexpected shutdowns all the time, with "40% battery left".
    Would really appreciate a sligtly slower phone for better reliability.

    This is a pre-emptively action, that is to avoid this.
    Diverting 0.0x% of their profit to their actual workers is not an actual cost
    They are trying to look good in front of the growing critics.
    If 15$ is a living wage, remains to be discussed.
    For people citing inflation, please consider that
    McDonalds in for instance Denmark are able to pay workers an ok salary + 5 weeks of vacation,
    while Big Mac prices are not that much higher than the US
    Yes, and health care...but that comes from the "high" Danish taxes
    Spreading wealth actually creates more wealth...

    Sold twice by it's creator!
    But MS seems to be making Skype worse in each iteration.
    FaceTime, FB Messenger, Viber, Snapchat, Telegram, Signal offers the same functionality.
    Skype is the next ICQ.

    When I found a potential job (outside LinkedIn) I look at that company on LinkedIn
    Sometimes I found that someone I know works or used to work for that company.
    Then I approach them directly with questions.
    This permits getting inside information, like why someone quit the job you are about to take.
