"Now, get these XFree guys to work with the Linux/BSD kernel guys, the toolkit guys, the DE guys and even with the Freetype/Fontconfig guys to *architect* things *together* by pushing the envelope and *innovate*. And then we are talking"

This is excatly what i think should happen. We need to get everyone together all the time and Innovate. FOSS is the perfect place for innovation to grow, yet the splintering of diffrent groups blows all those efforts out the water!

When all these developers know what everyone else is doing and working on, and how they can hook into eachother, is when we will begin to see innovations that will shoot past M$, or even Apple. But until then, we are stuck in bitter "licencing argument" land, and pissy little fights between Devs.

Sure, perhaps we wont be able to get the "kernel engineer's cube was right next to the app_server engineer's cube" situation happening, but right now what OSS needs most is Cohesiveness. For now, that is the one leg up that MS has on us, as the Open source community, is a cohesive process, where (At least i hope, otherwise MS is in a worse state than i though) the developers know what is happening next, and where. They can then anticipate with their coding and make the product come out even better.

This is not meant to be a black mark on OSS, because for the way we do things now we have produced some pretty incredible products, however we need a paradigm bump, moving towards somthing that fits together much better.

And people wonder why i'm not a freaking liberal. Just like any politician, its all "We promise X, We promise Y." Post Election.... X and Y never happen.

Our government wonders why the 18-25 voting range has such low turn out: It's because we are young, cynical and have lost faith in the way that our political system is supposed to work. No one wants to vote, because there are no good parties to vote for. (Well, for me, the closest i go for is NDP). Now that Paul has decided to take away our electronic freedoms, i wonder how much longer the liberal party will stay in power. My best bet: Until all the older voters die. Best be pumping money into health care Mr.Martin, because your best voting base is dying.

There are many studies showing that ritalin can cause a form of brain damage only shown in cocaine addicts previously. This is because it [ritalin] affects the way that the brain is reaction to dopamine and other neurostimulants. Ritalin is a Schedule two drug as classified by the FDA. Here are a series of links that i HIGHLY reccomend that you read.

Well first off, i am very offended my your comment that only 74 year old granmothers listen to cbc. I'm 15... and guess what.... cbc is what i listen to. My music does not come through cbc (And not any other radio station canadian or american) i listen to cbc because it is the only place ever where i can get real news and real facts now. Modern media is becoming sensationalist, and is fearmongering for ratings* cough*fox*cough*a-channel*cough*global*. This is a direct result of american influence. I know for a fact that a while ago most media was actually quite sensible, but then people saw the ratings that the american stations were getting and started to drool. The broadcasters here analysed what they say and heard... and boom, they knew the cause was they were bein sensatialistic, so why not imitate them.

American culture is affecting canada.... i'm not saying that that is a bad thing, but your allusion that canadians think their own culture and artist suck is completely wrong and very shortsighted. Get a brain and realize that

    • Yes, $25 levy for mp3 players are too big
    • Canadian's have wonderful artists who infact are mking waves in america right now
    • Who gives a shit wheather or not we listen to american stations. I dont. I think that radio is just what you said. Noise in the car
Come on, and suck it up princess. This is the real world now. (40% is enough to make you see that there are actually good canadian bands out there not being wiped out by the american music overlords)
